The reason for this is Telegram’s enhanced use of the cloud. Essentially, it stores all of your messages and photos on a secure server. In addition to these functions, you can enable in-app browsing that lets you open external links within the app. All these options are available under the “Chat Settings” section. To mute a chat in Telegram, head over to the chat in question. Next, tap the name at the top and then hit the mute button.
