Events During ^Aashuraa’

^Aashuraa’ [عاشوراء], the 10th of the month محرّم which is the first month in the Hijriyy Calendar.
Many events happened during that day.

🔸This is the date that Allah saved Prophet نوح (Noah) and those with him on the ship from the flood

🔸 It is also the date that Prophet Mousaa and his Muslim followers were saved from the tyrant blasphemer Pharaoh

Prophet نوح (Noah) may peace be upon him, was sent to a blasphemous tribe whom he called to Islam day and night. He did this for 950 years but most people did not believe in him; they insisted on their misguidance and worshipping idols.

Furthermore, they made their enmity towards him apparent; they harmed him, mocked him, and hit him. He would faint because of their severe hitting at which point they would leave him thinking that he died. Allah would cure him and he would return to calling them to Islam again.

He would call them to the proper belief time after time without getting tired or bored. He continued doing so until Allah revealed to him that no one of his tribe would believe in him other than those that had already believed; so نوح (Noah) made supplication that none of the blasphemers be left alive on the face of this earth as stated in the Qur'an.

Allah’s punishment thus befell the blasphemers; the flood befell them and all blasphemers died.

Prophet نوح (Noah) and those who had believed in him were saved in the ship that Prophet نوح had built following Allah’s orders. Allah preserved the ship and protected the believers on it

Events During ^Ashuraa’ & Repentance

🔸 Prophet Mousaa was in the land of the unjust tyrant Pharaoh who claimed that he was God, we seek refuge with Allah from that

🔸Allah ordered Prophet Mousaa to go to Pharaoh and call him to Islam.

Prophet Mousaa did so and showed the Pharaoh the astounding wondrous miracles which proved that Mousaa was sent by Allah.

Despite that Pharaoh stubbornly clung to his arrogant ways and refused to accept the truth and harmed the believers.

Mousaa and the Muslims with him, who were 600,000 left Egypt. Pharaoh and his army of one million and 600 thousand pursued them wanting to kill them but as mentioned in the Qur'an, Allah granted safety to Mousaa and the believers with him.

🔸 Allah revealed to Prophet Mousaa to strike the water with his cane; he did, and the sea split forming 12 path ways for Mousaa and the believers to walk on to the other side.

When Pharaoh and his army followed them, the water collapsed on them and they ended up drowning.

🔸 As the Pharaoh was drowning and he was sure of death, he announced his repentance.

But repentance is not accepted at that state because among the conditions of repentance is for it to take place before the state of hopelessness, when one knows that one is dying for sure; such as facing inevitable drowning, as happened to Pharaoh

The Martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn

The prophets of Allah exemplified patience when calling to Islam.

The honorable companions and Muslim relatives of the Prophet ﷺ followed their footsteps sacrificing their lives in defending the true religion that Allah ordered us to follow.

Imam Husayn [الحسين ], may Allah raise his rank, the beloved grandson of the Prophet, exemplified this methodology.
When he saw that someone was unfit to manage Muslim affairs and wanted to take over rulership without acceptance from the people of virtuousness and without being paid allegiance from the people
appropriate for that, al-Husayn
publicly rejected that and did not remain silent from upholding the truth.

He did not compromise Islamic principles and the greater good. He firmly remained steadfast to the truth and ordered the good and forbade the unlawful. As a result of his stance, he was killed unjustly, gaining martyrdom and a high status

We ask Allah to enable us to follow the footsteps of these great men and take them as role models and examples

The meaning is: [O Allah make the beginning of this day SalaaH" i.e. a good this for me. "And its middle NajaaH" in its middle; fulfill my need and "Its end FalaaH" i.e. make its end an achievement of the goal
