The Immigration of our Beloved Prophet
Patience & Generosity
Glory & Victory

When the Prophet and Abu Bakr reached the cave of Thawr, the Prophet’s companion said to the one whom he loved, may peace and blessings be upon him, “I swear by the One Who sent you with the truth, you will only enter the cave after me. That way if there is something harmful inside, it will afflict me rather than afflicting you.”

He entered and did not see anything, then the Prophet entered.

It is narrated that there was a hole and Abu Bakr feared that something would come out of it and harm the Prophet, so he blocked it with his foot. A snake bit and harmed our Master Abu Bakr to the point that his tears ran down but he would not move his foot.

When men from Quraysh arrived to the entrance of the cave, Abu Bakr said, “O Messenger of Allah, if one of them looks down he would see us.” The Prophet replied:
يا أبا بكر ما ظنّك باثنين الله ثالثهما
which means O Abu Bakr, what do you say about two people that Allah knows about them, protects and supports them

The Prophet’s stand was firm .As a result, the blasphemers (non-Muslims) conspired to kill him, gathering from each tribe a strong man so that they all would strike him at once with the strike of one man, thus dispersing his blood amongst the various tribes so his tribe Quraysh would not take revenge.

#Note! The migration of the Prophet peace be upon him was not an act of cowardice in facing the enemy; rather, it was a migration fulfilling the orders of Allah.

It is impossible for the Prophets to be attributed with cowardice since they are the bravest of God’s creations.

The Prophet peace be upon him migrated from Makkah to Madinah after having stayed in Makkah for 13 years calling the people to worship Allah only. He faced dangers and difficulties patiently relying on Allah

When the Prophet ﷺ was in the cave, Allah made a tree grow to block the Prophet from being seen; and made a spider weave its web on the entrance, and two wild pigeons settled there. All of this made the cave seem uninhabited.

When Quraysh’s young men arrived with their sticks and swords, they got close to where the Prophet was, and one of them looked at the cave. When he saw the spider-web on its door and the two birds, he did not enter and went back to his friends thinking no one was inside.

Then the Prophet ﷺ continued his journey with his companion to the city of Madinah, which he reached on a Monday in Rabi^il-Awwal.

Waiting for him in al-Madinah were people who protected him, supported his call, and spent their money and sacrificed their lives to spread the call of Islam from east to west.

We should learn from the Prophet, peace be upon him and from his blessed migration to be steadfast to the truth and never to leave it no matter how the circumstances change and regardless of the time and place we are at
