How the Common Cold Can Boot SARS-CoV-2 Out of the Body's Cells
🦠@COVID19Up: The virus that causes the common cold can effectively boot SARS-CoV-2 out of the body's cells.
Some viruses are known to compete in order to be the one that causes an infection. And University of Glasgow scientists say it appears cold-causing rhinovirus trumps coronavirus.
If rhinovirus and SARS-CoV-2 were released at the same time, only rhinovirus is successful. If rhinovirus had a 24-hour head start then SARS-CoV-2 does not get a look in. And even when SARS-CoV-2 had 24-hours to get started, rhinovirus boots it out.
"SARS-CoV-2 never takes off, it is heavily inhibited by rhinovirus," Dr Pablo Murcia told BBC News.
He added: "This is absolutely exciting because if you have a high prevalence of rhinovirus, it could stop new SARS-CoV-2 infections." SOURCE

Doctors Reveal “Staggering” Mental Health Crisis in Australia Amid Intensifying Lockdowns
🇦🇺@COVID19Up: The Australian Medical Association Queensland's Council of General Practice chair, Maria Boulton, has revealed a "staggering" increase in mental health presentations over the past year.
Dr. Boulton said people were under financial stress, they had lost control over their day-to-day lives and they were worried about their families.
"I think at the moment about 50% of patients that I see have a mental health issue," she said.
"It's terrible … there are so many people suffering. Normally people might go to the gym to exercise or they might go and see their friends [but] during a lockdown, all those coping mechanisms go. It's a very tricky time."
The HMS Medical Group managing director described the demand for mental health services as "unprecedented" and "overwhelming."

Aussie Doctor Says She’s Censored By Govt., US Docs Also Censored
Doctors in the United States and Australia are facing an unprecedented level of official censorship from their licensing bodies over the issue of COVID-19. In both countries, official licensing boards that have the ability to retract their medical licenses have warned them that if they publicly disagree with mainstream medical opinion, regardless of whether or not what they say is factual, they are in danger of losing their medical license.
In a recent video, an Australian doctor finds herself unable to honestly answer a question about lockdowns. “I don’t think I can answer that question,” she says. “I have an opinion, but I can’t actually really express them freely,” she states.
She then reads from the official position statement of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, which says, “Any promotion of anti-vaccination statements or health advice which contradicts the best available scientific evidence or seeks to actively undermine the national immunisation campaign (including via social media) is not supported by National Boards and may be in breach of the codes of conduct and subject to investigation and possible regulatory action.” The key words being, “or seeks to actively undermine the national immunization campaign,” since any doctor speaking out against the vaccine campaign, regardless of whether what they say is true or not, may be subject to this punitive action.
“And now we see that doctors are being suppressed and others are being suppressed,” said Dr. David Berger, in an interview with ABC, an Australian news network. “I think there is real fear out there,” he said.
In the United States, the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) warned that doctors could lose their licenses if they spread COVID vaccine “disinformation.” Their statement says doctors “must share information that is factual, scientifically grounded and consensus-driven for the betterment of public health.” The key words there being “consensus-driven,” as this means that any statement a doctor makes that is not in line with the “consensus,” regardless of whether or not it is true, as for example might be the case with new facts that have recently been discovered, would theoretically place a US doctor at risk of losing their license.
However, a representative for the FSMB told Becker’s Hospital Review that “we currently view misinformation as sharing or distributing verifiably false information," and "We define disinformation as sharing or distributing information that the distributor knows is false." I

Cat Got Your Tongue? Silenced by AHPRA
GP can't even answer my question on lockdowns. There are a handful more who will talk to me off camera, but not on camera for fear of disciplinary action by their regulator: AHPRA.
Feeling 'safer' already from all that ugly 'misinformation' out there. Thanks…
