Due to some technical error, expect delays in updates.

Thank you!
Hey Ops!
Hope everyone is staying safe.

With almost all states now reporting new cases and recovery numbers, we could use more help in verification and input of data. We are constantly in the process of automating the process by wenscraping state dashboards and OCR on bulletins, but the final green signal and addition has to be done by a human. 🙂

Please do PM @simulatedmonkey or @ricketyship if you’re interested in helping us out and be part of the data operations team.

Thank you!
Today morning, MOHFW decreased the number of cases in “Cases being reassigned to other states” , which is reported as “States Unassigned” in our website by 1352.
Hence, the total increase in cases is currently negative, as you might have seen in the instant updates channel (https://www.tg-me.com/covid19indiaorg_updates) and as a ❤️ in the website.

Once the nett delta becomes positive for today, it will start showing the numbers. We are working on adding a ↓ against this category to make it more clear on the website.
Here's the third episode of our 'The New Normal' series.
Have a look!

An update regarding the License of the api repository that contains all our data.

API repository contains both the code that routinely fetches the data from Google Sheet and convert it into JSON files in the required format and the data itself (in the gh-pages branch). So, the content of this repository is licensed in two ways : Code and Data

License for Code (Consider this as everything in the master branch) : MIT License (Detailed in LICENSE_CODE.txt)
License for Data (Consider this as everything in the gh-ages branch) : CC-BY-SA-4.0 License (Detailed in LICENSE_DATA.txt)

Earlier the entire repository was under GPL3.0, we have shifted this to make things more permissive.
Github performance has degraded. Expect delayed updates.

"I did not experience any symptoms during my Covid journey. Most important was to stay positive and keep stigma away' - An insightful thread on the experiences of our volunteer who tested +ve for Covid19 and was fully asymptomatic. He was located in Pune during this time.

---

What prompted you to get tested if you were asymptomatic?
One of my contacts tested +ve and I was planning to go to my hometown from Pune. I got tested to ensure that I was safe before heading home, but the test results came out Covid positive.

Did you experience any symptoms prior to or during the recovery period?
No, I did not have any of the Covid19 symptoms. I felt perfectly healthy during the entire period.

🩺 Doctor's note: Asymptomatic persons will not have symptoms but can still infect others.

Did you have to get admitted in a hospital after testing positive?
No. As I was asymptomatic I was advised room quarantine. I was staying with 2 other flatmates. 2 of us tested +ve. Our 3rd flatmate who tested -ve, helped us as our caretaker during this time.

Did you have regular doctor consultations during this period?
I signed up for a Covid Home Care package of a pvt. hospital. It included daily tele-consultation by doctor/nurse, recording of vitals, a kit containing oximeter, thermometer etc. It costed me 1400 INR/day.

Were there any medicines prescribed? Any specific dietary restrictions?
I had to take Vitamin C and Zinc supplements daily.
I was advised to avoid fried/junk/preserved food. Otherwise there were no dietary conditions.

Note: Please follow doctor recommendations for you.

How many days did you have to be in room quarantine?
I had to be in full room quarantine for 10 days. On the 11th day, I had to visit the hospital for a check up for symptoms. Further I had to be in quarantine for another 4 days.

How did you manage your daily essentials like grocery, food, water during this period?
Our 3rd flatmate managed most of it. Grocery used to be delivered to our door. Our flatmate kept food and water daily outside our door! Someone to provide this care at home is essential.

Were you anxious at any point? How did you pass time during your recovery?
Naturally I was anxious when I got to know that I tested positive. But we decided to stay mentally +ve.
Video calls with family/friends, my job and Netflix kept me engaged.

Did you have any Covid19 test at the end of your home care period?
No. As I was asymptomatic after 14 days of home care, they issued a clearance certificate after a physical checkup in the hospital.

Did you face any social stigma during this time?
There was a small incident where our neighbour blamed us for putting them at risk. I reasoned that we were asymptomatic and following all precautions, but she was scared and angry that we put her family at risk.
