The one who mention Allah whether they are standing, whether they are sitting, whether they are laying down before they go sleep or just sitting, they always remember Allah عز وجل.
Even though all the عبادات that we do. The action we do for Allah عز وجل,, all these are ذِكر.
 
حديث عائشة أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَرَمْيُ الْجِمَارِ لِإِقَامَةِ ذِكْرِ اللَّه" (عز وجل)..
Ayisha said: الرسول ﷺ said:
The twaf/طواف around the Kaaba/كعبة, what do you say when you are in the tawaf around the كعبة?
Theker/ذِكر of Allah عز وجل.
 
وبالصفا والمروة
When you up صفا ومروة?
ذكر
ورمي الجمار
This hadith said all this was created because of the ذكر of Allah عز وجل, to establish the ذكر of Allah عزوجل.

وقال الله تعالى: {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي}.
Establish the Salah so you can mention Allahعز وجل.

فذكر الله عز وجل..
So, mentioning Allah عز وجل is by the heart, by the tongue, and by the action. When you keep that going, that will keep the road to Allah عز وجل....
 
It will get you closer and closer, [right], and will save you from a lot of other things.
Sometimes people do the ذِكر by the name of Allah عزوجل, of course as we mention (تحميد), الحمدلله.
والثناء على الله، الحمدلله
Thank Allah الحمدلله
When you say that الحمدلله.
 
And there was a hadith that الرسول ﷺ, he left, like after Fajr/فجر, [right], and he left Jewyryah - one of his wives. When he came back he found her sitting in the same position.
 
فقال: "مَا زِلْتِ عَلَى الْحَالِ الَّتِي فَارَقْتُكِ عَلَيْهَا؟"
You still the same way since I left you! She said yes.
 
قال النبي ﷺ: "لَقَدْ قُلْتُ بَعْدَكِ أَرْبَعَ كَلِمَاتٍ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ"
He said there is certain words if you would have said at that time, يعني after Fajr/فجر, in the morning, he said if you would have read these with the whole day, it will overweigh the whole day.
"سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ"
 
سبحان الله
Glorify to Allah
وبحمده (الحمدلله)
عدد خلقه
The number of all his creations, before and after and.. how many? We don’t know.
ورضى نفسه عز وجل
And the satisfaction of Allah عز وجل.
وزنة عرشه
What is the weight of his throne سبحانه وتعالى.
ومداد كلماته
All his words are endless, you know, it doesn’t end. So, he, رسول الله ﷺ, is giving us example or showing us the ذكر.
And how important it is, it will overweigh everything.. that will overweigh anything you do that day.
 
فسبحان الله
As we said it is between الحمد والثناء والمجد.
Even though Al-Fateha that we read, [right].
 
There is hadith:
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: قَسَمْتُ الصَّلَاةَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي"
Allah عز وجل, in this hadith Allah سبحانه وتعالى saying that I divided the Salah between me and my slave to two halves.
 
"وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ"
And to my slave whatever he asks for.
 
فَإِذَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ : الحمدلله {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ}
If.. when you say: {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ}
 
قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: حَمِدَنِي عَبْدِي
Allah سبحانه وتعالى will say: my slave, he makes حمد for me, he thanks me.
 
وَإِذَا قَالَ: {الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ}
And if he said: {الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ}
 
قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: أَثْنَى عَلَيَّ عَبْدِي
My slave/عبدي glorifies me, in a very high status.
 
وَإِذَا قَالَ: {مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ}
And if he said {مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ},
the king of the day of judgment.
 
قَالَ الله عزَ وجَل: مَجَّدَنِي عَبْدِي
Still, you still praising Allah عز وجل
 
وَإِذَا قَالَ: {إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ}
He asks me for the guideness and to be on the straight path.
 
قَالَ: هَذَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي ، وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ
This is between me and my slave.
 
Look at how many times we ask Allah for.. to put you on the straight path and to be on the guidance every day, seventeen time a day minimum….
 
{اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ} [6] {صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} [7]..
 

قَالَ: هَذَا لِعَبْدِي وَلِعَبْدِي مَا سَأَلَ
This is for my slave and for him what he asks me for.
So you can imagine when you read Al-Fateha, and you have that in mind after hearing this hadith, that it is the conversation between you and Allah, you know, asking Allah for all that.
From this hadith we also learn that, when you are about to ask Allah for something, you must first do (حمد) and (ثناء), praise Allah عز وجل.
 
If you go to any of the kings
و لله المثل الأعلى
If you go to any of the kings
*(Allah has much higher status)
If you go to any of the kings, the kings of the world, and you want to ask him for something what are you going to say first? You are going to praise them, you say thank you, appreciate it, and you know say, you are very generous. The perosn will start praising the king before he asks him for what he is going to ask him for.
و لله المثل الأعلى
Allah has much much higher status.
 
What are you thinking when you ask Allah عز وجل?
You start with these things
You know
الحمدلله
اللَّهُمَّ لك الحَمْدُ كما يَنْبَغِي لِجَلالِ وجْهِك، وعَظِيْمِ سُلْطَانِك.
اللَّهُمَّ لك الحمْدُ حَمْدًا حَمْدا، اللَّهُمَّ لكَ الحمدُ وَأنتَ قَيُّومُ السَمواتِ والأرضِ ومَنْ فيهِنَّ، اللَّهُمَّ لكَ الحَمْدُ وَأنتَ مَلِكُ السَمَواتِ والأرضِ ومَن فِيهنَّ، اللَّهُمَّ لكَ الحمدُ أنتَ رَبُ السَمواتِ والأرضِ ومَنْ فيهِنَّ..
 
Therefore, you keep praising Allah عز وجل before you even ask for what you need to ask.
And that is what we learn from Surah Al-Fateha.

In the way to Allah عز وجل
في طريقنا إلى عز وجل
(طريق الدعوة إلى الله عز وجل)
We need to understand that the ذِكر, the remembrance of Allah عز وجل, mentioning the name of Allah, reading the Quran, establishing these أذكار daily, making a وِرد for the Quran daily - a portion that you read every day from the Quran - and we mention how easy it is to finish the Quran every month. By the way there are some groups, they get together and they just.. you know, put their names there and they start to remind each other daily, did you finish a جُزء, did you finish after every Salah, we are going to send the four pages so somebody can read it.
That is how the people motivate each other and take you away from anything can take you away from the way to Allah عز وجل.
So the way to Allah عز وجل,..
We try to stick to certain things that keep us strong and keep the Shaytan/شيطان away from us. So, you can imagine you are on the traffic waiting in the car, so you start with the (تسبيح), (تحميد), والذِكر.
 
سبحان الله
 
أذكار الصباح، أذكار المساء
We will get to that more, إن شاء الله, so just to see the benefit of it, but as we heard in the hadith الرسول ﷺ saying about the... you know, just thanking Allah with the number of his creation and with the weight of his throne, and everything else, how heavy is that for the day.
That is equal to much much higher than anything you can do on the day.

We ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to make us among the people who always mention his name, to make us among the people who look for these حلقات of the ذِكر, the gather of the knowledge that Allah and his messenger is being mentioned in it, and to benefit from it, and keep us in that way until we die.

We ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى that we get benefit from what we heard and we can put it into action.

The mentioning of Allah عز وجل can be the Quran, reading the Quran, قال الحق سبحانه وتعالى: {إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ}Allah سبحانه وتعالى said: (we revealed the Quran and we are the one who is going to protect it)

• قالوا: وَمَا رِيَاضُ الْجَنَّةِ؟They ask what is the رياض of the جنة?What is this, you know, the gardens of the جنة, the paradise? قال ﷺ: "حِلَقُ الذِّكْر"

• ويدخل فيه ذكر الله بتسبيح وتحميد وتكبير وتهليلAlso, by just saying:سبحان الله والحمد لله و لا إله إلا الله والله أكبر Just by saying that, get the tongue used to say that, when you are in the car and you are in traffic make (تسبيح), if you are at the doctor office waiting for someone, make (تسبيح) and (تحميد) and (تكبير)

• وسبحان اللهAlso, what time? Any time

• الله سبحانه وتعالى mention:{الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ}

• حديث عائشة أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَرَمْيُ الْجِمَارِ لِإِقَامَةِ ذِكْرِ اللَّه" (عز وجل)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
إن الحمد لله، نحمده ونستعينه ونستهديه ونستغفره، و نعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا، من يهده الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلل فلا هادي له، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمدًا عبده ورسوله. ثم أما بعد،
فإن أصدق الحديث كلام الله وخير الهدي هدي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وشر الأمور محدثاتها وكل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وكل ضلالة في النار.
All thanks and praise are due to Allah سبحانه وتعالى (the Almighty). We seek refuge in Allah from our bad deeds and bad actions. The one whom Allah will guide no one will misguide; the one who is misguided no one will guide.
I bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Al Fard, Al Samad, Al Wahed, Al Ahad, and that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم (peace be upon him) is His messenger and slave. Indeed, the best of the speech is the speech of the Qur’an, and the best of the guidance is the guidance of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. The worst of the matters in our religion is the innovation; each innovation can be a misguide and each misguide can lead us to the hellfireوالعياذ بالله (may Allah protect us from it).
We are still taking about the way to Allah عز وجل (the Almighty), الدعوة, and we will put some points and try to cover what can always make you feel comfortable.
1- When you look at the blessings that Allah سبحانه وتعالى gives us every day, every night, every hour and every minute that will help us in the way to Allah عز وجل. When you think about the blessings of Allah عز وجل,
نعم الله علينا الظاهرة والباطنة
what Allah has blessed us with, the things we can see and the things we cannot see. There is an experience I have to share with you, when visiting somebody in the hospital and you see a sticker on the door says: “Nothing to the mouth”; they cannot eat or they cannot drink, and you can see that the patient can only take a cube of ice and put it in their mouth hoping to get a little sip of water while a lot of us take that granted and don’t pay attention to; a lot of us have a bottle of water in their hand and they drink half of it and throw the rest. Right?
Well, some people in the hospital get only a cube of ice to put it in their mouth because they cannot get a sip of water, also there are some people in Africa who have to walk miles just to get the water. Right?
فالحمد الله على شربة الماء.  
So, thank Allah سبحانه وتعالى for this sip of water. Moreover, in the hospital, you see people suffering to use the bathroom or go for number one, just to get the water that they drank out of their body, and that’s something we do daily without any issues whatsoever, Alhamdulillah. You do not realize thisنعمة (blessing).
فالحمد الله على إخراج شربة الماء من الجسم.  
So, we should thank Allah سبحانه وتعالى for the ability to get this water that you put in your body out; because if it gets stuck; you cannot handle the suffering of it, right?
Alhamdulillah for hearing one another; the blessing to be able to hear one another, right? In our community, in our Masjid, we have a brother that cannot hear and cannot talk. So, when we give a lecture or خطبة (speech) for the جمعة (Friday prayer), I can see him looking at my lips trying to read them. So, subhanaAllah, when you see someone like that you say subhanaAllah. It is a blessing to have the ability to hear the sounds and there is no price that equals this blessing, right?
The ability to see one another, see the colors and the things around you, is a نِعَم (blessing). These are some of Allah’s blessings. Why I am mentioning this?
Because on the way to Allah عز وجل when you live as all the prophets lived and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and, after that, the companions and the people of knowledge, العلماء الربانيون, and everybody that wants to satisfy Allah عز وجل and that is their main intention.
وهذا هو الطريق إلى الله  
And this is the way to Allah عز وجل.

Sometimes in that way a lot of challenges, a lot of فتن (temptations) and a lot of tests will come, and a lot of us will start to complain when we go through small test and forget about all these blessings. So, think about all these blessings that we talked about today; all these نِعَم.
The heartbeats, the way that the blood runs in your body. Right? We absolutely have no control over it. Right? And on top of all that the blessing of being a Muslim, Alhamdulillah. There are people, as we speak, that worship cows or rats, and others that worship their own desires, right?
"أَفَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُ هَوَاهُ"
Allah says:
“Have you seen the one who takes his own desire as his god?”
And that is what is happening right now around us. So, we must always remind one another and remember that in the way to Allah عز وجل there are many blessings that Allah سبحانه وتعالى gave us; some we know and some we do not. And some that Allah سبحانه وتعالى makes happen and you do not even realize and, at the end, you say: “Why me?”
Subhan Allah, Allah has حكمة, wisdom and knowledge, and all the affairs by Allah عز وجل that happen to you are Allah's choice. And Allah 's choice for you and me is better than our own choices, and that is a fact. So, this is important to remind one another while seeking the way to Allah عز وجل.
We will share one Hadith today, just to calculate. Maybe some of us saw this calculation as the علماء (scholars) did when they heard this hadith:
هو حديث عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أخرجه الترمذي وابن ماجه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله وعليه وسلم: "أَعْمَارُ أُمَّتِي مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَى السَّبْعِينَ، وَأَقَلُّهُمْ مَنْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ." أو كما قال صلى الله عليه وسلم.
In this Hadith, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid: “That the average age of my أمة (nation) is going to be between sixty to seventy years old, and not many who will less or more than that.”
So, if we do a quick calculation based on sixty years. Let's say the average will live to be sixty years old. Right?
فكم سنة سيحاسب عليها العبد بين يدي الله عز وجل؟  
How many years, you think, will you be held accountable in front of Allah عز وجل? So, we must know the value of this دنيا (life) as a lot of us think that this دنيا is a great deal but it is not. Allah سبحانه وتعالى mentioned in the Qur’an and His messenger said that this دنيا in the eyes of Allah is nothing.
Except the ذِكر of Allah عز وجل, except what can get you closer to Allah عز وجل. Some people think that they are going to live forever in this دنيا. They think:
الدنيا طويلة وهي قصيرة. 
They think it is too long while it is too short. So, if you calculate; most of the people sleep about eight hours a day, that is a third of your day gone sleeping. In other words, you spend third of your life sleeping; that’s twenty years. And based on the hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم when he said: “Among the people who are not going to be accountable are people who didn’t reach the age of accountability.” That can be ten or twelve years old. So, if you calculate twelve years in which you are not held accountable for anything until you reach the age of accountability; so that is twenty and twelve that is thirty-two. Thirty two out of sixty, so you are left with only twenty-eight years.
عبد الله، أمة الله.
In these years you are probably thinking about getting married, finishing your school, and doing so many things. But where is Allah out of these twenty-eight years? Subhan Allah.
On top of that, if you really think about it, we are like days. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Yesterday is gone and you cannot bring it back. That's it. You cannot bring a second back; I don’t care how rich you are, how wealthy you are, you cannot bring a second from yesterday’s time.
And tomorrow you cannot control. We have our hopes and wishes. But if tomorrow is not coming, if we go to sleep tonight and we cannot wake up tomorrow, that’s it. It's done. As a matter of fact, today we only get the second we live in. Right? Subhan Allah.

So, if you look at it this way, you will start to realize that, Subhan Allah, I am going to live for that. If I am averaging sixty years in this دنيا; sleeping third of it which is twenty years, and I am not going to be held accountable since twelve years old, so, twenty-eight years I am going to eat, drink, use the bathroom, get married, have kids, have my schooling and whatsoever. To meet Allah عز وجل and to stand in front of Allah عز وجل, what am I going to do for this time? Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
﴿قَـٰلَ كَمۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ عَدَدَ سِنِینَ ۝١١٢ قَالُوا۟ لَبِثۡنَا یَوۡمًا أَوۡ بَعۡضَ یَوۡمࣲ فَسۡـَٔلِ ٱلۡعَاۤدِّینَ ۝١١٣﴾ [المؤمنون]
In the day of Judgment when Allah starts to ask us: “How long you stay in this dunia?” The answer will be: “Well, we stayed a day or for a few days.”
Subhan Allah. And we say it as if we are sure about it, even though you ask the people who were counting. Right? Subhan Allah. So, we need to remember, on the way of Allah عزوجل:
There are a lot of blessings on our way in our day; in every minute, in every second, there are a lot of blessings from Allah عز وجل. So, whatever calamity and tests come in the way, we always need to remember the blessings that Allah granted us and we should remember the hadith mentioned today that the average we are going to live from sixty to seventy years, more or less, and with some calculations we will be really coming out with few years. Whether we go to Jannah or hellfireو العياذ بالله and we are going to stand in the presence of Allah عز وجل, what are we going to bring with us? What are we going to say we have done for this دين (religion)?
So, الدعوة إلى الله, in the way to Allah عز وجل we are going to get a lot of challenges, and when we do remember the few things we mentioned today, that will give us a little bit of ease to make us comfortable.
تفت فؤادك الأيام فتا
وتنحت جسمك الساعات نحتا
و تدعوك المنون دعاء صدقٍ
ألا يا صاح أنت أريد أنت
أراك تحب عرسا ذات خدرٍ
أبت طلاقها الأكياس بتا
تنام الدهر ويحك في غطيطٍ
بها حتى إذا مت انتبهت
There is a saying:
“Days are going by and actually time is eating your life; basically, taking away from your life. The time is the clock. And the caller for death has been calling for you; calling for you because you are awake. But on the other hand, you are busy; you want to marry this دنيا but the smart one divorced this دنيا three times; and you are sleeping in this دنيا and you are not setting your priorities straight; you are just sleeping a deep sleep and when you will only become awake when you are about to die.” So, we have to be careful.
