"We will adopt your baby"
Remember in the “before times” when eating locally from traditional family farms was a “liberal thing”? It’s time to reclaim eating well and eating locally. The right-wing must become a slow-food movement. The dinner party is the new vector for radicalization, pass it on.
I am assuming that since I haven’t heard anything about the Independence Day Shooter there must be something about him that is narratively inconvenient for the left.
Beyond the emotion that this is Demonic (it is), a fruitful line of thought is to question why crisis pregnancy centers are so threatening to Elizabeth Warren from a Machiavellian power analysis perspective. https://twitter.com/rncresearch/status/1544707511906930690?s=21&t=hIfz3QrMwxA2pYTriCQWtg
NGL, I don’t see how the German people or culture come back from this. The remnant (my own family included) will be formed into something new, but probably not “German”.

However, this will forever be the legacy of the GAE, that after it conquered one of Europe’s most vibrant cultures and most resilient peoples it then destroyed them across two generations of “peacetime”.

Abe's assassination is one of the first major killings of a public figure in the developed world that I can remember in some time. Days before an election in the country, in the midst of ongoing tensions over Taiwan and economic collapse in Sri Lanka.

Facts remain to unfold on the killer, and the motive, a sign of the times for sure.
A big political awakening for me was less when I discovered people like Steve Sailer (I always knew that this sphere of wrong-think existed), and more when I discovered that people like Matt Yglesias were aware of people like Steve Sailer. From that point forward it was impossible to not see the game.

1. Hide some essential piece of information that governs a critical political issue behind a “civil-rights” taboo.
2. Force your political opponents to contort their own arguments around the taboo with Euphemisms and half-truths.
3. “Debboonk” the conservatives by pointing out the holes on their own contortions. Hold up leftism as the only alternative explanation not engaging in a obvious mental gymnastics.
4. Rinse and repeat.

The sheer nihilistic dishonesty of this process is shocking. They know they are participating in a fake debate, a contest where their opponents are knee-capped. They know they should lose. But they still take the dubs, parading their own fake LARPY world-view to the tune of Queen’s “We are the Champions!”.

To answer the question. They know the arguments, they know the evidence, they don’t have any better explanations. They know that in all likelihood Sailer and co. are on the right track. They also know their position relies on denying this.

If they were forced to explain, I imagine Matt Y. Would come up with some effeminate concern trolling. “I just want conservatives to be honest about the racist stuff they actually believe. Are they REALLY comfortable with those conclusions?” Etc etc.

Do people like Yglesias actually give people like Sailer purchase? I've always assumed that they just see them as manifestations of the right-wing racist boogeyman whose ideas are too extreme (i.e., violate too many null hypotheses) to be taken seriously. What makes you think they don't genuinely consider their 'civil rights taboos' as fundamental axioms?
I have never had a worse year for health than the last 12-months. Maybe it’s having a kid when daycares open after a pandemic? I am counting 17 bugs at this rate. Not all of them hit me, but with a sick spouse/kid it hardly matters.
Well that escalated quickly…
Ok looks like that last one was a fake. Was very convincing though.
Just as the the Scyldings conference was the most notably pleasant surprise of 2022 so far, the Passage Prize has to be the biggest disappointment coming in at x3 the price of my allocated budget (6 x more than I have ever paid for a fiction collection). No price drop in sight.

I didn’t think sticker price would be enough to put me off art, but this really makes it useless for my purpose. Even if I did dedicate 2 months of entropy earnings to buy the thing (money otherwise needed to offset inflation effect of family costs), what would the point be? None of my audience could purchase the stories to read and therefore could never get the references I would make in relation to it.

All of this to say, I think the creators misunderstood the idea of “elite culture”. The barriers for an elite cultural work should be intellectual and spiritual, not financial. This was the way it always has been. The aspiring elite were rich in spirit, poor in terms of raw cash. The people it’s designed to target to are the young men with a few dollars in their pocket and a hunger for a new world, not some established patrician class with no budget.

As I've said many times now... around about the year 2000, culture stopped. Since then, what we have seen is a constant process of homogenising and streamlining what was present in 2000. It's like Groundhog Day, except that, with each iteration, things get simpler, more barren, more uninspiring, more uninteresting, and more soulless. There is a drive towards the ultimate generic.

This is perhaps best epitomised by the appalling "People of Flat Design" phenomenon, but you see it everywhere - in logo design, music and cinema.

In the 1990s, every film had a particular "flavour" - sometimes subtle, sometimes strong, but always unique to it. A film would be regarded as a failure if it did not have a unique flavour; if the director was just repeating his well-worn formula, or if he was just kowtowing to the conventions of the genre or the fashions of the day. Now, he is rewarded for doing those very things and thus making a film that could have been made by any director. As a result, every film seems to be "generic film flavour". It's split by genre, admittedly, but that's bad enough. "Generic superhero film", "generic gross-out comedy film", "generic slasher film", "generic sci-fi film"...

It's the same with music. You have "generic rock song" and "generic rap song", etc. These things abound. The very idea of a group having their own sound seems to have been completely forgotten.

Were there always generic horror films and generic rock songs? Yes, of course. But they were regarded as such, and the makers of them would know to be embarrassed about their lack of a unique creative voice. Today, not at all.

You even see it in architecture. An office block built in Britain today will be indistinguishable from one built in any other country today. For now, dwellings still retain a certain national character, but that is diminishing rapidly.

This process is painful to live through. The terrifying possibility is that globalism is going to leave us with nothing, just the perfect generic example of each particular thing - but no flavour to the example, no artistic voice infused into it, no creator personality embedded in it, no human soul present.
Do normie-cons exist for any other purpose than demonstrate how out of touch they are from their own generation? Remember kids, you are only one part-time lawnmower job away from paying off 40k college debts and buying a house.

I really hate to do this, but my voice has simply not recovered from the flu bout this week. No podcast tonight, but I am trying to get a Substack post out.
