Laura Guerra es designada como Presidenta del BCV

En Decreto N° 5.119, publicado en Gaceta Extraordinaria N° 6.898, de fecha 11 de abril de 2025, se anunció el nombramiento de Laura Carolina Guerra Angulo como nueva presidenta del Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV).
Guerra llega a la presidencia del ente emisor tras una destacada gestión en la dirección del Fondo de Protección Social de los Depósitos Bancarios (Fogade) y el Fondo para el Desarrollo Nacional (Fonden). Asimismo, estuvo al frente de la Superintendencia Nacional de Auditoría Interna (SUNAI).
En Gaceta también consta el nombramiento del nuevo Directorio, conformado por la ministra de Economía y Finanzas, Anabel Pereira Fernández, como representante del Ejecutivo Nacional; y los directores Luis Alberto Pérez González; Christian Martell Ramírez; Carlos Cestari Infantini; Christiam Hernández Verdecanna y Santiago Armando Lazo Ortega.

Decree No. 5,119, published in Extraordinary Gazette No. 6,898, dated April 11, 2025, announced the appointment of Laura Carolina Guerra Angulo as the new president of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).
Guerra takes over as president of the issuing institution after outstanding tenure as director of the Social Protection Fund for Bank Deposits (FOGADE) and the National Development Fund (FONDEN). She also headed the National Superintendency of Internal Audit (SUNAI).
