How long do you wait for a student to answer when you ask a question?

So, what did you answer in yesterday's poll? Did you know that studies show most teachers actually only wait an average of one second after asking a question?

Experts recommend that you count to at least 3 in your mind before repeating or rewording the question if no student has answered yet. (And it's a good idea to remember that it can take students from 1 to 10 seconds to fully process a question and answer, as well!)

In the group, we have 17 English teaching assistants, teaming up with local teachers from high school to university. Additionally, there are eight seasoned English Language Fellows, bringing their expertise to enhance English education at the university level. ๐ŸŽ“โœจ
