1⃣ We can use about to mean ‘concerning’
Ex:
_ I have heard all about it.
- There is nothing we can do about it.
- The great thing about her is that she never gives up.

2⃣ We can use about to mean ‘approximately’. We can also use around for this but about is less formal.
Ex:

📝شرح Prefer وطرق استخدامها في اللغة الإنجليزية


📝استخدام Prefer لتفضيل شيء على شيء آخر في اللغة الإنجليزية (Prefer something to something else)

في اللغة الإنجليزية ، إذا أردنا مقارنة شيئين والتعبير عن تفضيل شيء ما على شيء ما آخر ، فنقوم باستخدام الفعل prefer مع حرف الجر to أو مع الاقتران rather than. تبعا ً لهذا النمط :

📝Prefer_+_noun_+_to_+_noun

📝Prefer_+_noun_+_rather_than&+ noun

لنأخذ مثالا ً , عن تفضيل التفاح الأخضر على التفاح الأحمر , كمثال :

I prefer Green Apple to Red Apple أنا أفضل التفاح الأخضر على التفاح الأحمر

I prefer Green Apple rather than Red Apple أنا أفضل التفاح الأخضر على التفاح الأحمر


📝استخدام Prefer لتفضيل فعل شيء على فعل شيء آخر في اللغة الإنجليزية (Prefer doing something to doing something else)

أيضا ً يمكن استخدام prefer لتفضيل فعل شيء على فعل شيء آخر في اللغة الإنجليزية , تبعا ً لهذا النمط :

📝Prefer_+_verb_(ing)_+_rather_ than + verb (ing)

لنأخذ مثالا ً , تفضيل العمل ليلا ً على العمل صباحا ً :

I prefer working at night to working at morning. أنا أفضل العمل في الليل على العمل في الصباح.

I prefer working at night rather than working at morning. أنا أفضل العمل في الليل على العمل في الصباح.



في هذا النمط لاستخدام prefer , يمكن التعبير عن تفضيل فعل على فعل آخر. لاحظوا أن الفعلين كلاهم المفضّل و المفضل عليه يأخذان صيغة المضارع المستمر مع ing.

استخدام Prefer لتفضيل فعل شيء على فعل شيء آخر في اللغة الإنجليزية (Prefer to do something rather than doing something else)

📝هنالك نمط ُ ثان ٍ لاستخدام prefer في تفضيل الأفعال , في هذا النمط تستخدم to و rather than معا ً في نفس العبارة , صيغة النمط :

لنأخذ أمثلة لهذا النمط ,  مثلا تفضيل الجلوس في الاماكن الهادئة على الجلوس في الأماكن الصاخبة :

I prefer to sit in quiet places rather than sit in loud places. أنا أفضل الجلوس في أماكن هادئة على الجلوس في الأماكن الصاخبة.

My mother prefers to sit ın quiet places rather than sit in loud places. تفضل والدتي الجلوس في أماكن هادئة على الجلوس في أماكن

📝شرح Would Rather و طريقة استخدامها في اللغة الإنجليزية


في اللغة الإنجليزية , يمكن استخدام Would Rather في مواقف محددة للتعبير عن تفضيل شيء ما. بعكس Prefer التي يتبعها to أو فعل بصيغة المضارع المستمر , فإن Would Rather يتبعها فعل بصيغة المضارع البسيط. تستخدم Would Rather عند التفضيلات التي تحدث في أوقات محددة. كذلك يمكن استخدام Would Rather بصيغ عديدة.

 

📝Would rather + verb [simple present]

يتم استخدام هذه القاعدة عند تحديد شيء معين لتفضيل عمله. مثال :

I would rather sleep at weekends. أفضل النوم في عطلة نهاية الأسبوع.

I would rather drink lemonade in this café. أفضّل شرب عصير الليمون في هذا المقهى.

 

📝Would rather + verb [simple present] + than + verb [simple present]

يمكن استخدام than مع would rather لتوضيح الفعل المفضّل و أيضا ً الفعل المفضّ عليه. مثال :

I would rather sleep all day than go out. أفضل النوم طوال اليوم على الخروج.

أيضا ً في حال كان الفعلين متطابقين , فيمكن إهمال كتابة الفعل الثاني. مثال :

I would rather drink water than soda. أفضل شرب الماء على الصودا.

في هذا المثال, قمنا بإهمال كتابة الفعل drink , لأنه نفس الفعل الأول.

 

📝Would rather + have + verb [past participle] + than + verb [past participle]

هذه الصيغة تمكننا من استخدام would rather للتعبير عن الندم بسبب تفضيل حدث في الماضي, يستخدم في هذه الصيغة have ويتبعها الصيغة الثالثة للفعل و هي صيغة الماضي . مثال :

I would rather have made a cake myself than bought one. كنت أفضل صنع الكعكة بنفس عوضا ً عن شراءها.

 

📝Would rather + pronoun ضمير + verb [past tense]

تستخدم هذه الصيغة للتعبير عن رأينا بتفضيل شخص آخر. مثال :

 

I would rather you visited my grandma before she died. كنت أفضل زيارتك لجدتي قبل أن تموت.

📝Would rather + pronoun ضمير + had + verb [past participle]

تنطبق هذه القاعدة للتعبير عن تفضيلاتنا فيما يتعلق بالأفعال السابقة لشخص آخر. مثال :
