1⃣ کاربرد between برای دو آیتم
➖ این حرف اضافه را بکار می بریم تا بگوییم چیزی بین دو شخص، شیء یا گروهی از اشیاء قرار دارد.

🔹 She was standing between Alice and Mary.
او بین الیس و مری ایستاده بود.

➖ از between برای بیان فواصل مکانی و زمانی استفاده می شود.
🔸 We need two meters between the windows.
بین دو پنجره دو متر فاصله لازمه
🔹 I will be at the office between nine and eleven.
بین ساعت 9 تا 11 دفتر هستم.

2⃣ کاربرد between و among برای موارد بیشتر از 2
➖ از between زمانی استفاده می کنیم که بخواهیم بگوییم یک چیز بین چند فرد یا شیء "مجزا" قرار دارد. ولی اگر چیزی یا شخصی در گروه، توده یا خیلی از افراد یا چیزهای دیگر باشد از among استفاده می شود.

🔹 Our house is between the woods, the river and the village.
خانه ما بین جنگل، رودخانه و روستا قرار داره.
🔸 The house is hidden among the trees.
خانه بین درختان پنهان شده.
🔹 I saw something between the wheels of the car.
یه چیزی بین چرخ های ماشین دیدم.
🔸 Your letter is somewhere among all these papers.
نامه شما میان این (همه) نامه است.

💥 Continual vs. Continuous

👈 تفاوت بین continual و continuous تفاوت بین regular (قاعده مند و مرتب) و nonstop (بی وقفه) است.

⭕️ اگر اتومبیل شما مرتب (continually) خراب می شود، گاهی اوقات کار هم می کند!

🔹My car continually breaks down.

👈 ولی اگر شیر آبی بی وقفه (continuously) چکه می کند، 24 ساعته نشت دارد و متوقف نمی شود.

♨️ Like, as, such as, similar to

👈 برای بیان شباهت از مواردی چون Like, as, similar to, استفاده می شود. ولی در موارد زیر از like استفاده می کنیم نه as:

✅ What a beautiful house. It's like a palace.
❌ What a beautiful house. It's as a palace.
چه خونه زیبایی. مثل یه قصره.
✅ It's raining. I hate weather like this.
❌ It's raining. I hate weather as this.
داره بارون می باره. من از هوای اینطوری متنفرم.

📌 در این ترکیبات like حرف اضافه است و پس از آن باید از اسم، ضمیر یا فرم دارای -ing استفاده کرد:
✅It sounds like a baby crying.
انگار یه بچه داره گریه می کنه.

👈 گاهی اوقات like به معنی "به عنوان مثال" است:
🔹 Some sports, like motor-biking, can be dangerous.

در چنین مواردی می توان از such as به جای like استفاده کرد.

👈 هر دو این کلمات صفت هستند ولی با معانی متفاوت. کلمه earthly بطور ضمنی بیانگرتعلق به زمین و دنیا، معمولی و عملی را در خود پنهان دارد.

👈 از طرفی دیگر صفت earthy بیانگر معنی "عملی" است با مفهوم ضمنی سرراست، مستقیم و رک که عاری از پیچیدگی است.

💥 چند قانون در مورد نحوه استفاده از ضمیرها

♦️ قانون 6 - برای اینکه بفهمیم پس از کلمات than یا as از ضمیرهای فاعلی استفاده شود یا مفعولی باید جمله را در ذهن خود کامل کنیم.

🔹 Tranh is as smart as she/her.

✍ اگر جمله را بطور ذهنی کامل کنیم متوجه می شویم که در صورت استفاده از she جمله Tranh is as smart as she is درست است. البته در مکالمه روزمره از ضمیر مفعولی هم استفاده می شود.

🔸 Zoe is taller than I/me.

✍ اگر جمله را بطور ذهنی کامل کنیم، متوجه می شویم که Zoe is taller than I am صحیح است.

🔴 Daniel would rather talk to her than I/me.
جمله بالا را به دو صورت می توان در نظر گرفت.

✅ Daniel would rather talk to her than to me.
✅ Daniel would rather talk to her than I would.

👈 معنی جمله بسته به نوع ضمیر مورد استفاده تا حد قابل توجهی تغییر خواهد کرد.

♨️ Subjunctive mode

👈 در زبان انگلیسی به چند صورت می توان از اجبار و الزام صحبت کرد که معمول ترین آنها استفاده از افعالی مانند should, ought to, must و have to است.

🔹 He should visit the dentist today.
🔸 We ought to take care of our health.
🔹 They have to be prepared for the unexpected.

👈 یکی دیگر از راه های صحبت درباره الزام و اجبار استفاده از صفات بیانگر اضطرار قبل از that clause است.
🔸 It is important that he be on time for the meeting.
🔹 It is necessary that he not get distracted while driving.

💥 صفات بیانگر اضطرار شامل مواردی از قبیل essential, important, necessary, advisable, vital هستند.

⚠️ در that clause و پس از این صفات از فرم ساده فعل استفاده می شود.
