Main points from the statements of Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, last night in an interview with Al Jazeera – below is Hamas' updated "talking points" regarding the deal and Hamas' approach going forward:

1. It is our right to fight against the occupation. The weapons of all Palestinian factions are tied to the existence of the occupation.

2. We have made a decision not to keep in our possession even a single body of prisoners of the occupation.

3. We will not give the occupation a pretext to renew the fighting.

4. We are not bloodthirsty and do not seek war. We want a Palestinian state according to international law.

5. We have reached an agreement with the Fatah movement regarding the deployment of UN forces as a body supervising the ceasefire and as a body separating the fighting forces.

6. The Gaza Strip Management Committee will receive from us full authority, and we will hand over to it all the reins of government.

7. The role of the Gaza Strip Management Committee will end when elections are held or when a Palestinian national unity government is formed.

8. The occupation has failed to achieve all its objectives thanks to the steadfastness of our people and thanks to the sacrifices.

Al-Hayya does not forget to justify Hamas' decision to carry out the 7.10 attack:
The 7.10 was a natural result of the behavior of the occupation – which has occupied our lands for 77 years. It is Judaizing Jerusalem, causing division at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and killing the Gaza Strip under a siege that has lasted 19 years. The occupation planned an attack on the Gaza Strip.

IDF activity early this morning in the Strip

The Gazans report that the IDF carried out early this morning 3 separate explosions of residential complexes in the eastern part of Gaza City (within the yellow zone) – in the Tuffah and Shejaiya neighborhoods – explosions that were also heard in the center of the Strip.

In addition, Gazan channels reported two strikes by IDF fighter jets in eastern Khan Yunis early this morning.
