A few tips untuk y'all πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Untuk essay BI, saya takde teknik pasang siap tapi untuk BI grammar mesti baik, tau beza dan ejaan ayat dan last sekali banyak membaca, untuk membaca boleh je baca buku cerita kanak. Kenapa kita perlu tau beza ayat? Sebab kadang" ayat ni bunyi sama tapi ejaan lain dan sebab satu salah ejaan ni salah semua ayat.

Contoh:

1. "She read the book." vs. "She red the book."

Read (past tense of "read") vs. Red (a color).

Importance: Confusing these changes the meaning entirely, as one describes an action while the other describes a color.

2. "Please close the door." vs. "Please cloth the door."

Close (to shut) vs. Cloth (a piece of fabric).

Importance: Misusing the word can result in nonsense or unclear instructions.

3. "He caught the ball." vs. "He cat the ball."

Caught (past tense of "catch") vs. Cat (a feline).

Importance: The misspelling makes the sentence illogical and confusing.

4. "I want to ensure your success." vs. "I want to insure your success."

Ensure (to guarantee) vs. Insure (to provide insurance).

Importance: Using the wrong word might convey a completely unintended meaning.

5. "She gave me a compliment." vs. "She gave me a complement."

Compliment (a kind word) vs. Complement (something that completes or pairs well).

Importance: Using the wrong word alters the context of the sentence.

6. "The kids are playing in the park." vs. "The kids are praying in the park."

Playing (engaging in a game) vs. Praying (engaging in worship).

Importance: Spelling differences can shift the imagery and meaning entirely.

Bunyi dia macam kecik tapi benda ni lah yang perlu kita mahir sebab dia boleh jadi careless mistake. Saya hari tu dapat 89 BI tapi disebabkan careless mistake ni lah saya tak dpt full mark. Hope this help you πŸ’« wishing all the best for your examsπŸ’«πŸ’«

Homophones, Homonyms, Homographs.

Someone in the comments asked what is homophone, so i'm going to answer it here.

Homophones are basically two or more words that sounds the same as another word but has a different meaning/spelling. For example :

β€’ Flour - Flower
β€’ End - And
β€’ Here - Hear
β€’ Night - Knight
β€’ Sea - See

Homonyms are two or more words having the same pronounciation and spelling but differ in meaning. For example :

β€’ Watch ( tengok ) - Watch ( jam tangan )
β€’ Bat ( kelawar ) - Bat ( pemukul )
β€’ Fly ( terbang ) - Fly ( lalat )
β€’ Close ( tutup ) - Close ( dekat )
β€’ Can ( boleh ) - Can ( tin )

Homographs are two or more words that spelled the same but have different pronounciation and meaning. For example :

β€’ Lead ( pronounced leed, means to guide ) - Lead ( pronounced lade, means a metal )
β€’ Bow ( pronounced bow, means ribbon ) - Bow ( pronounced baw, means to bend a little at the waist )
❀20πŸ‘5
Don't be confused! If you have troubles identifying those three, let me give you a tip!

First thing first, homo means same.

β€’ homoPHONEs
- phone means sound in greek, so homophone has SAME SOUND but DIFFERENT SPELLING.

β€’ homoGRAPHs
- graph means spell in greek, so homograph has SAME SPELLING but DIFFERENT SOUNDS.

β€’ homonym is basically both ! SAME SPELLING and SAME SOUNDS.

Hey guys, I've been thinking of sharing some tips for the speaking test. Let me know if you're interested in this..and I'll try my best to explain it to you guys. React with a ❀️ if you're interested

Tips for the speaking test:

1. Practise makes perfect.
- find a friend that's good at speaking, and practice with them using past speaking test questions. When practicing with your friend who is fluent in english, they can help you in every aspect. Such as generating ideas, vocabulary and pronunciation.

2.Expand your vocabulary.
-instead of the basic vocab, try to search and understand an advanced vocabulary. You may know them as bombastic words. With those bombastic words they will help you to be more confident when you're talking. Plus it'll also may be a way to gain more marks in languages.

3.Listen and learn.
- as you guys may know, sometimes the government or even some schools will upload a video of a real spm candidate taking the speaking test. Through the video, you guys can learn how they answer the questions, also you can avoid the mistake from the candidate such as, talking too fast without clear pronunciation.

4. understand the test format.
- believe it or not, many people failed at the speaking test because they couldn't understand the format. Whether they talk beyond the time limit or talking about everything except what the question really wants. So for this tip, you must read the question carefully and also learn the format again. Such as, what is the first part pattern? They usually start with interviewing you. Your name, your routine, etc.

5. Stay calm and Confident.
- whatever you're feeling while answering the questions...you must stay calm. You're going to stumble upon your words if you're panicking. So take a deep breath before answering and imagine the words in your head. Imagine it lining up to form a word and then you can answer them. Make sure to answer the question with a confident tone. Because if you're too invested in your panic, it will worsen the situation.

That's all for now. I hope this is helping you guys...drop your thoughts about these tips.
