"When the Libyan problem started, African Union with our chairman - this gentleman here, they formed a committee of few people - I think there were six. I was one of them. All of the African Union gave that committee a mandate to look for a solution for the Libyan problem. On one occasion (I didn't go that time) these excellences - this one here Jacob Zuma and the others - I was not there, but my minister was among them. They entered a plane in Nouakchott in order to go to Libya for mediation - and they were told by NATO to go back. Yes - to go back. Yes - he's here if I'm telling lies... African presidents over African mission over African soil were ordered by NATO to go back. NATO did not allow them to land in Libya. Now, we call this in Swahili «Dharau» - contempt. This is contempt."

IMF, World Bank and other global financial institutions entangle African countries in loans they will never be able to pay

The interview was held 3 years ago but it hasn't lost its actuality.
IMF, World Bank and other global financial institutions tie African countries up in loans which they will never be able to pay. The US borrow money at the interest rate of 1.5 - 1.9%, whilst African countries get money at 9-10%. When the poorest countries need a break in payments they don't get it, whilst far more wealthier ones do get breaks.
IMF success is based on the fact that African countries, as well as other developing countries, will fail.
