我們非常遺憾得知，曾參與二戰時期香港保衛戰，及後被押往戰俘營，最後一名在世的加拿大溫尼伯榴彈兵團退伍老兵Mr. George Peterson 辭世，享年100歲。
We sadly learnt of the passing of Mr. George Peterson, the last surviving Winnipeg Grenadier who was a prisoner of war during the Battle of Hong Kong, at the age of 100.
In the Second World War, Canada sent a force of 1,975, including two battalions (the Winnipeg Grenadiers and the Royal Rifles of Canada), to help defend the Crown Colony.
Mr. Peterson made it his life's mission to make people aware of the suffering and humiliation experienced by prisoners of war. He had been interviewed numerous times over the years to discuss his almost four years of internment. He received the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation in 2009 for his outstanding volunteer service to the veteran community.
We wish to offer our most sincere condolences to Mr. Peterson's family.

為響應十一月退伍軍人節及推廣大眾對加拿大二次大戰太平洋戰爭歷史的認識，展望青年領袖培訓計劃舉辦香港保衛戰紀念儀式，由 Hong Kong Veterans Commorative Association 主席 Mike Biban 講述香港保衛戰歷史。香港監察信託人兼創辦人之一 Aileen Calverley 亦有到場參與。
🇨🇦Markham —— Remembrance Day Commemorative Ceremony for the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Hong Kong

About this event
On October 27, 1941, a force of 1975 Canadian soldiers was sent to defend Hong Kong. The major units were from The Royal Rifles of Canada and the Winnipeg Grenadiers. They fought bravely alongside units of the British Garrison of Hong Kong, mainly from the 2/14 Punjab Regiment, 5/7 Rajput Regiment, 2nd Royal Scots Regiment, 1st Middlesex Regiment and Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, later called the Royal Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers); 294 Canadian soldiers died during the Battle of Hong Kong and subsequently 264 more died in prison camp.
They gave their lives to make possible the freedom that we enjoy, the democracy by which we govern ourselves, and the justice under which we live. We are grateful to remember those who have sacrificed for Hong Kong.
With Remembrance Day in November and to raise public awareness of the Pacific War history in World War II, Vision Youth presents the Commemorative service on the Battle of Hong Kong.

Elite commandos outperformed their US counterparts when trialling a new battle structure in California
或許也是時候（也終於有空間）交代一下阿域的去向。
簡單來說，小弟在兩個月前就正式被英國陸軍取錄為皇家軍樂隊的樂手，現正在軍隊接受十四星期的軍訓。
2020年十月尾，我與新婚妻子必需以LOTR來到英國。但「在英國生活」並不是我的終點，所以一直沒有多寫，而且老實說日常衣食住行也沒有什麼值得分享。
我的真正夢想，是在英國延續音樂事業，以及學習打敗港共黑警的能力，而經過一年努力，這個夢想終於成真。
剛來到英國時正值第二次封城，加上LOTR不是正式簽證，所以即使我一來到不久便申請參軍也被拒。一直至今年五月BNO visa正式批出，我立即再次申請，這次終於得到面試機會。
由五月至十月，我通過了數次面試、試音、體能測試、背景審查等，過完一關又一關，終於在十月得到final offer，並在十月尾正式入軍營接受軍訓。
當時以為過五關斬六將終於到達終點，哪知道入到訓練營，挑戰才是真正的開始。
雖說是樂手，但我接受的訓練是和其他兵種完全一樣的完整正式軍訓，也是我一生中做過最艱辛、最瘋狂的事。軍訓有多辛苦？和現在相比起來，當日理大圍城就如渡假一樣，就可以想像陸軍訓練有多「痴線」。
其實在我之前，已經有不少BNO港人成功參軍，但以BNO visa 加入正規軍，我應該是第一個。雖然軍訓乃非人生活，我每天都不知自己是怎樣活下來的，但訓練過半，已明顯看到自己的進步，也很感恩自己能以一己之長報效大英祖國，以報答他們的救命之恩。
軍訓非常艱苦，我直至現在軍訓過半才有機會坐下來喘口氣，而且軍隊也有指引不可發佈訓練營內的照片。但我之後仍會不定期分享參軍經歷，以及可能圖文不符的軍旅生活。
香港人不是東亞病夫，我們可以拿到奧運金牌，也可以參軍。
