🇺🇸US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has dismissed the Director of the Intelligence Directorate, Lieutenant General Jeffrey Cruz, The Washington Post reports citing sources.

According to the publication's interlocutors, Cruz became another high-ranking military official who lost his position during a large-scale purge of senior officials in national security agencies.

The official reason for the dismissal is "loss of trust." At the same time, sources link it to a leaked report in the press stating that after American strikes, Iran's nuclear potential was set back by only a few months – contrary to Hegseth's and Trump's claims that this potential was "destroyed."
