The 'ceasefire' looks to me like it's about manufacturing consent for further escalation.


With the exception of the Israel firsters, extremist evangelical god botherers, and on the payroll influencers, Americans don't want war.

So you call a ceasefire, making Trump look like an enti-war hero, and then you claim Iran broke it.

You use that as evidence that Iran can't be trusted and that diplomatic solutions are impossible with such a regime.

You don't want the war, but you have no choice.

The people lap it up.
