In Geoalert we developed a specific model to outline the oil spills using #SAR imagery (#Sentinel-1). We used the datasets created by the team of Transparent World - Caspian project. They monitor oil pollution in the area of the #Caspian Sea and post alerts through the telegram bot.
The model has been implemented into #Mapflow platform to help the Transparent World team partly automate the mapping work and analysis.

We consider #Mapflow a collaborative tool for teams that manage large mapping projects. Now any Mapflow user can create a new Team. 👨🔧 👨🔧 👨🔧
Once the Team is created, you can invite new members and assign and manage their limits.
The Team Admin is able to assign the limits to the Team members within the remaining balance.
You can share your project with anyone in the Team and assign his role as needed.
Even if you work in a small team it will power your workflow and make it more efficient.

While Xmas time is on its way to come into town, we are happy to release the new version of the AI model for predicting forest vegetation heights ⚡️⚡️⚡️. It performs more stable and much more accurately on 60% of our benchmarks across US, LATAM and EU countries.
It keeps working with mono imagery predicting accurate vegetation masks and heights. Well... as accurate as you can see compared to the lidar which is top-notch but comes with high costs to collect data for extensive areas like the #power transmission networks, where monitoring of vegetation is a constant challenge.
The new version is available in all #Mapflow services including #Web, #QGIS plugin and #API. Enjoy trying it and leave us your feedback ⭐️⭐️⭐️ by rating your results in Mapflow or by contacting us directly.

Big news! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Geoalert will host a partner day conference in Tashkent 📍, on December 23.
We plan to conduct demos and workshops dedicated to the application of #AI to #Geospatial imagery and #mapping.
It's a turnover to make #EarthObservation data analysis affordable, effective and fun while getting it along with the traditional mapping.
We invite you to join us on this day to learn from the industry leaders about the practical cases of AI for geospatial.
If you are around and you are interested – you are very welcome to join.
Note that the registration deadline is on December 17 👈, and space is limited - so we follow the principle of first come, first served.

While there is a constantly growing number of publications about the integration of large models (#LLMs, Visual language models) with spatial apps—both academic and marketing 😎 — we added our two bits from solving real business cases.
Next time you see a lot of comments under another LinkedIn post featuring #geoai and #arcgis as a game changer of this integration, take a deep breath and remind yourself about hitting the target. 😃

We got to share a new partner story from Brazil – Identification of Priority Trees for Pruning.
"Poor urban #tree management can lead to various negative impacts on the #power distribution network. When in contact with the network, trees can cause unplanned power outages, increase the risk of fires and electric shocks, and result in economic losses for the population. To prevent these issues, LOP – Smart Pruning utilizes the Forest Height model developed by #Mapflow to identify trees that are in contact with power lines. This approach ensures efficient and sustainable urban tree management, avoiding unnecessary pruning and improving the safety of the power grid."
LOP is a Brazilian startup specializing in the intelligent management of tree pruning near #powerlines, public lighting, and traffic lights. LOP identifies priority areas for pruning, sends data to field teams, and enables real-time
management and monitoring of pruning activities.

Geoalert in Space, 2024
In 2024, we continued remote work and held offline meetings in Istanbul and Tashkent. We released many, but not all of the plans we had, and we are looking for more in 2025. May you map with fun and peace, with or without AI. Happy New Year 2025!
