We are visiting Space Technology Conference - Central Eurasia that will be held on 10-11 May in Tashkent. The audience is slightly different from what we are used to, it seems to be the networking between different Space Agencies. But it's interesting to learn how's the #SpaceTech business, especially Earth Data analytics, is evolving in these regions. Stay tuned - we will share out thoughts and impressions.

#Tashkent city (where we opened a new office recently) has a very interesting patterns. Urban analysts are welcome to try the dataset generated with the use of #Mapflow AI building extraction. Look from above and get deeper.

The frontline of the Russia-Ukraine war as seen in the thermal anomalies map. The map is shown as of May 7 using MODIS / NPP data from the NASA worldview.
The North frontline is more than 150km in length according to this evidence.
The thermal anomalies detected by satellites are usually used to represent the #wildfire locations. Now it represents the #hostilities – the cause of wildfires.

We've got a new story from the #Mapflow user. 💡 Thanks for sharing! 👏

We published #Tashkent dataset in our #opendata repository for Uzbekistan. The dataset is composed of:
- building footprints (in two versions: with and w/o merging with Openstreetmap buildings)
- construction sites - the model detected 500+ within Tashkent area 🇺🇿

All such data is possible to generate using #Mapflow and more recent imagery in case you are subscribed to one of our commercial plans. 💰

We will post in more details about this dataset. And we are looking for more requests from the community. 👈👀

We added GTIFF support as "upload your own imagery" to Mapflow.ai 🎉
Now you have three options to start the AI-mapping processing;
1) Select the default imagery source
2) Add Custom imagery URL
3) Upload GTIFF file

Current Image uploading and processing requirements:
- The area of the processing must be more than 1 sq.km.
- The file size must be less than 512 mb.
- The image must be georeferenced and the CRS must be one of the following:
WGS84 (EPSG: 4326), Web mercator (EPSG: 3857), UTM (any zone)

⚠️ For those of you who are bit experienced with QGIS we recommend to use Mapflow for QGIS plugin which has more capabilities to handle GTIFF files.

🔥 Спасибо МАРХИ за статью про наш прошлогодний вебинар. Как давно это было! Привет из времен "безмятежной юности" компании Геоалерт. 😉

FYI 👇
The more detailed description of each #AI-mapping model is presented in our documentation. E.g. Buildings or Agriculture fields
Change log of the particular model updates to come next. 😉
Geoalert will take part in the #ENGAGE 2022 conference organized by
Maxar Technologies – the leading Earth Observation provider.
This one is going to be a significant networking event in the #Geospatial and we are thrilled to meet and connect with people. 🤝 🇵🇹
The event's agenda looks impressive. We've been allocated the speaking slot in the Lightning Talk Session with "Being a SaaS (Small Analytics company) in the Earth Observation market". 😉
Check our profile and stay tuned for the updates

New Open Urban Mapping datasets: Tashkent and Ulanbaator
After the long break we started publishing more datasets under the Open Urban Mapping project.
Initially the project was aimed at demonstrating “AI-Mapping” technology of Deep learning models powered by the Mapflow platform to extract millions of building footprints. As far as Microsoft Building footprints continues covering territories all over the World it comes to little sense to develop an open data alternative to this gigantic datasets. 👉 Therefore we reviewed the Urbam Mapping project concept and dedicated it to the much less in numbers but more sophisticated and reach datasets related to particular cities rather than the whole countries. The datasets keep on publishing under the Open (OdbL) license.

Sorry for sharing some personal content but it's the very first time two of us - one guy from India and another one from Russia - met together in Frankfurt on their way to Lisbon.
Coming out of "online" makes a lot of fun and 🍺

We publish more videos to attract attention to the advantages of working with #Maxar SecureWatch using our free plugin for #QGIS. Maxar images are not free but you get such benefits as the paid traffic economy by targeting your streaming to the particular location where the changes are going. The workflow recorded in the video is composed of the following:
1) Detect constructions with Mapflow using basemap imagery which is not updated
2) Use the mask layer to find the recent imagery by SecureWatch
3) Run your next detection processing with Building footprints or other features over these areas using the selected imagery

This was the second time we participated in the “Engage” conference organized by #Maxar — the leading satellite imagery provider. Due to the pandemic, however, Engage was last held in 2019 in Barcelona. At that time, we had just started Geoalert and were making our first steps working with Maxar’s cloud platform. This year, in Lisbon, we got a chance to present the results of our work over the past three years — Mapflow — our cloud platform that harnesses AI for the mapping on satellite and aerial imagery...
