How we handle low ratings in #Mapflow
When a user rates a result with 1 or 2 stars ⭐️, our support team reviews the case to assess whether a credit refund is warranted. In many instances, low ratings stem from mismatched expectations about the model’s capabilities. In others, the output may be bad—this can happen due to the complexity of globally stable models that must handle a wide variety of patterns and contexts.
Poor-quality input data can also impact the final results, making them less usable. If, upon review, we confirm that the result was of insufficient quality, we refund the credits used for that specific process. Users will receive a notification once the refund is done.
In some cases, we also follow up with an explanation—especially when we’ve identified a clear reason for the poor result or when the results can be improved by adjusting the model parameters.
We welcome all feedback, whether positive or negative—it helps us improve and better align with your expectations. 🤗

What would it look like if a paper shredder were applied to the maritime landscape? 😄

It’s official — the new "🌲 Forest and trees" mapping model is live. 🎉
Although the update quietly rolled out two weeks ago, we’ve been holding off on the announcement while collecting early usage data and finding the optimal balance of the model input parameters. Now, we’re excited to share what’s new — and what’s already showing great results.
The biggest advantage is that the model now supports individual tree crown detection and delineation, which can be added as an optional layer to the base forest mask. This opens up new possibilities for estimating forest structure and tree heights.
Since becoming the default in #Mapflow, the updated model has sparked users' interest. In this initial period, the Forest + Crowns option was used five times more than the basic version, while in 2024 it was quite the opposite — the Forest with Heights option was used 3 times less than the basic Forest. Damn, it looks like users are really engaged in trying the Crowns + Heights.
We're continuing to fine-tune the model’s input parameters and gather more examples of real-world applications. In the meantime, here are a few project snapshots that highlight what the new model can do...

We released the early version of the #ImagerySearch on the Mapflow web app. Now that all our apps, including the Mapflow #QGIS plugin and #API, support Imagery search, we are approaching the enabling of imagery ordering directly from your preferred client app. The imagery search of Chinese imagery is powered by our partners - Orbview 🇸🇬 - for those who want to get and analyse commercial hi-res imagery of any location all over the World.
There are many catalogues of satellite images that maintain the sales workflow.
What sets our solution apart?
🔍 Unified search across multiple satellite image providers
🌏 Access to some of the most affordable high-res imagery on the market
🧩 Designed to support additional providers (e.g., Maxar)
🗺️ Built-in metadata search for imagery basemaps like Global Mosaic and ArcGIS Worldview
The data search is aligned with the Mapflow AI and we are working on getting more data available for instant analysis.

We’ve updated #Mapflow web app UI to simplify the process of creating a project. Here’s what’s new:
1. ✅ Set Your Area of Analysis.
We’ve made it easier to define your project’s area of interest (AOI).
At the first step you can draw or upload an AOI polygon, or Upload a GeoTIFF image—the app will automatically calculate the extent, and you can still refine it with an AOI if needed.
This improvement reflects the growing number of users uploading their own data.
2. ✅ Choose Your Data Source (If Not Using Your Own Image)
Select from the following options:
🔘 Imagery Providers: Use default providers integrated with Mapflow.
🔘 Custom URL: Connect your own tile server for seamless integration.
🔘 Historical Data: Search and access commercial imagery available for your AOI.
Whether you rely on our built-in providers, your custom data, or historical archives, the process is now more intuitive and efficient.
Read more in Mapflow documentation or just try it out in the app.
