German biotech firm BioNTech is facing hundreds of Covid-19 vaccine injury compensation claims in Germany.

Two law firms, Rogert & Ulbrich and Cäsar-Preller are claiming on grounds that their clients have suffered lasting health damage from the company’s vaccine developed for Covid-19.

The pharmaceuticals producer was supposed to face its first court hearing over the claims in a case brought forward by a middle-aged medical worker seeking at least €150,000 in damages, however the proceedings were canceled just before they were set to begin.

According to the lawyers' offices, several hundred damages lawsuits are in preparation or have been filed across Germany.

BioNTech said that the case was without merit.

Professional basketball player Óscar Cabrera Adames passed away this week after a heart attack whilst undergoing a stress test at a health centre in Santo Domingo.

The UK has hit the lowest levels of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccinations in a decade as parents continue to reject vaccinating their children.
