The way you play sports can tell you a lot about how you work.
A few days ago, we had a sports day at the office. It was a great icebreaker for new joiners and experienced employees.
We played treasure hunt, number game, relay tic-tac-toe, cricket, and even a game where you pick up a ball with a pen.
Kudos to the team for organising this.
Every game made you think. It was more about strategy than speed.
What stood out was how people’s personalities on the field reflected how they work.
Some people were all about strategy, thinking a few steps ahead. These are the same people who approach work with a strategic mindset, always looking at the big picture.
Others jumped in headfirst, full of energy and action. At work, they’re the ones who take initiative, even if things aren’t fully figured out yet.
And then you had the ones who got frustrated when things didn’t go as planned, showing disappointment quickly. At work, they’re the ones who struggle when the plan falls apart.
Some people don’t enjoy sports, and that's cool.
But how you react in different situations says a lot about how you approach life and work.
The scenarios might change, but your personality doesn’t.
