Slughorn was the embodiment of a true Slytherin.
I know we get a bad picture painted in the books of Slytherin house. I mean, I see where it comes from. We never really get to see the Slytherin's that just coexist among the congregation. We're always seeing people like Malfoy, Crabb, Goyle, and Flint running a much of the place, we never really see the ones who just do their studies and regular student life activities.
Slughorn was selfish. He showed favoritism. He was a conductor of fratinizarion. He liked secondhand attention. He threw students aside he didn't see useful for his own personal gain.
But when SHTF, and Voldie invaded, he led his students to safety, came back with reinforcements, and even engaged his former student in combat to protect the remaining students.
He was a bit rough around the edges, but when it was time to take action, he stepped up.
Moral do gooders who do good because it's the right thing to do are fine. Slughorn, to me, embodied a more human side. He's flawed. He's not perfect. But he knows when it's time to do the right thing.

When you first read the books, how did you imagine Harry’s scar looked? Like the one on the left? The one on the right? Or something else entirely?

I've always remembered movie Harry's scar looking like the one on the left. Imagine my surprise when I looked again and saw that it wasn't.

WHY DOES HERMIONE LIE ABOUT THE TROLL
How is admitting to being upset and hiding in the bathroom worse than going to look for the troll??
And, while I’m here, why doesn’t Harry suggest chocolate for Dudley after the dementor attack?? A minor detail that drives me insane

What are some "great things" that Voldemort has actually done?
We keep hearing about what a great wizard Voldemort was. The big bad things that he has done. The grand achievements he has accomplished.
But if I try to recall, there is not one thing that comes to my mind regarding Voldemort's achievements.
What exactly has he done? Why are people actually afraid of him? Anyone can use the forbidden curses.
