As I grew older, i realized that peace of mind matters most.

but how i think and feel inside, i've become someone i never thought i would be.

When you start choosing not to explain yourself anymore...

sometimes it’s not about being busy. its about staying far enough away from what we don’t want to feel.

you don’t realize how much they drained you until you leave. suddenly, the silence feels safer than their presence ever did. suddenly, your body stops bracing for the next disappointment. you weren’t dramatic, you were surviving.

its like being trapped in a room with no windows just darkness all around. you know there’s a switch somewhere, a way out, a spark but no matter how much you reach or search, you can’t find it. and the longer you stay in that dark, the more you forget what the light even felt like.

that’s what losing myself feels like.

i leaned into the world, trembling,
but it stood still,
so i wrapped my arms around myself.

if eyes could speak

i wish our eyes could talk out loud,
say what we hide beneath the shroud.
a glance could beg, or cry, or sigh,
no need to speak, no need to lie.
and maybe then, you'd start to see
how much you still mean to me.
