Books and Authors led by Zohre Hashemi and Bita Malakouti.

Mehri Publication founded in 2012 in England is a publishing house that aims to support writers, translators, and artists to publish their works, in particular, the ones who are not allowed to publish their books in their own countries due to censorship. It publishes books in Persian, English, Arabic, and other languages in the UK, divided into different categories such as novel, classic literature, poetry, essay, memoir, translated literature, Persian humor, art, research, history, and children books.

Dr. Ahmadian is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of expertise in Social Sciences, and Behavioral Sciences. As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, she works directly with individuals to address behavioral challenges, promote positive behaviors, and improve their overall quality of life.

Applied behavior analysis provides a structured and effective means of understanding behavior and implementing targeted interventions to reinforce desired behaviors and reduce challenging ones.

There will be time to mingle, have refreshments, and meet new and old friends. This is a great opportunity to meet Iranian-American young professionals in the DMV area and expand your professional network.

A Conversation & Book Signing with Amir Ahmadi Arian -
Saturday, September 23rd: 3-5 PM EST (In-Person)

Join us for a conversation with Amir Ahmadi Arian, an author and journalist, led by Zohre Hashemi and Bita Malakouti.

While in Iran, he published more than ten books as an author and translator, along with hundreds of essays and articles during the 2000s. He left Iran in 2011, and ever since he has been writing exclusively in English. Over the last decade he has published many short stories and essays in outlets such as The New York Times, NYRB, Paris Review, Guernica, and many more. His first novel in English, Then The Fish Swallowed Him, was published by HarperCollins in 2020. He is currently an Assistant professor of Creative Writing at Binghamton University, New York.
