📝 Dr. Eyad Qunaibi:
During this blessed hour on Friday...
Don't forget to include the Muslim prisoners in your duʿāʾ in their absence.
Perhaps Allāh relieves them of, or lightens, their burden and cheers them up in their captivity.
For verily, if the prisoner hears that his brothers are praying for him, then that is a source of steadfastness and tranquillity for them, by the will of Allāh.
Likewise, if he feels that his brothers have forgotten him, that increases his grief and restlessness.
O Allāh! Relieve our oppressed brothers and sisters everywhere, cheer them up in their loneliness and take revenge from those who oppressed them.

*ARTICLE [MALIKI FIQH] BY SHAYKH HASSAN AL KETTANI*
Eid Mubarak to everyone!
As we enter this blessed month of shawwal, Allah is providing us yet with another opportunity for immense rewards by fasting *just 6 days* in shaa Allah.
Each year, a claim that Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) disliked fasting these six days of shawwal reappears, and deters some of our brothers from reaping the rewards promised by Allah.
In this article, shaykh Hassan al Kettani (may Allah preserves him) clarifies that:
- this practice is narrated in the authentic sunnah (even mutawatir according to imam Al Suyuti and Allahmah Muhammad ibn Ja'far al Kettani)
- Imam Malik himself used to fast these six days of shawwal according to his close student
- the Maliki ulama encouraged fasting six days in shawwal

*Encouragement To Perform Qunūt Nāzilah (قنوت نازلة)*
Qunūt Nāzilah is a supplication for Allāh’s protection and support from harm that is offered in prayers at times of calamity. We can see what is happening in Gaza and in Masjid al-Aqṣá, and so we must strive to implement this action of the Prophet ﷺ.
While we strive to implement the Sunan of the Prophet ﷺ in relations to individual worship, his character and how he was with his family and companions, we should also strive to do those actions that he did when the Ummah was in a difficult moment on a state level and how perfect an example he was as a leader.
It is proven that the Prophet ﷺ used to say Qunūt at times of distress, praying against the aggressors among the disbelievers, and praying for the week and oppressed Muslims to be saved from the plots and captivity of the enemies of Islām.
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah: Whenever the Prophet ﷺ lifted his head from the bowing in the last rak‘ah he used to say:
"O Allāh! Save ‘Ayāsh bin Abī Rabi‘ah. O Allāh! Save Salamah bin Hishām. O Allāh! Save Walīd bin Walīd. O Allāh! Save the weak faithful believers. O Allāh! Be hard on the tribes of Muḍar and send (famine) years on them like the famine years of (Prophet) Yūsuf."
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī (no. 1006)
This Qunūt can be performed during any of the obligatory prayers. As for if the Qunūt should be before or after the bowing, Shaykh ‘Abdul ‘Azīz Aṭ-Ṭarīfī mentions both are allowed before or after, but that which seems to be the strongest is that it should be after the bowing.
Action Plan:
We should contact our Imāms and Muslim speakers to arrange this to happen in our local Masjids during Ṣalāh.
The least we can do for those outside Gaza is to help financially by giving charity to organisations working on the ground and also through supplicating for the oppressed. Among the greatest and most powerful factors of victory is seeking the help of Allāh.
May Allāh forgive us and give victory to the oppressed Muslims. Āmīn
