Further, the concept of 'Huduud' has come under scrutiny once again - Is this practice really something founded under Islamic law? Are there various interpretations of the Islamic Justice System that can allow multiple enactments at a public level? How just is the Islamic Justice System? ⚖️
MUMSA and Ihya Institute have joined forces for an insightful and ground-breaking discussion unveiling the context of the 22 year long Afghan war as well as shedding light on the widely-debated Islamic Justice System.
We will be joined by political analyst and commentator Uthman Badar, a current phD candidate completing his thesis on secularism, as well as Shaykh Hassan al-Kettani, an accomplished Jurist and classically trained scholar from Morocco. 💡

I had the honor of interviewing one of the foremost scholars of Morocco, Sh Hassan Kettani.
Sh Hassan's story is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. He was jailed in prison for 8 years. The government accused him of inspiring a series of suicide bombings that rocked the country.
Sh Hassan discusses his ordeal and the twisted political games involving Western agencies that sent him to a prison cell.
Must watch!

From Sh. Hassan Kettani: The advice to [Muslim women who wear niqab] is to stand firm on that and don’t give up, don’t give up! You are strugglers, you are on the right path, you are on the path of the Prophet’s wives (peace be upon them all). So, stand firm…

Major scholarly unions demand end to ‘War on Terror’
Scholarly unions representing hundreds of global ʿUlamā' have signed a statement denouncing the so-called ‘War on Terror’ policies and calling for an immediate end to foreign wars and occupations.
Al-shaykh Dr. Al-Hassan b. 'Ali al-Kettani,
"Any scholar, anybody gets influenced by his environment. But, we are people who search and seek the truth. Never condemn other beliefs but always search for the truth. Ibn Taymiyyah said a beautiful statement which I would all of you to wear as a necklace or an earring. What is it?
"He says, "اهل السنة اعرف الناس بالحق و ارحهم بالخلق"
The people of the Sunnah are the most knowledgeable of the people in the Truth and yet the most merciful to the creation.
"You have to know the truth, not to go and condemn people. You have to know the truth to be merciful towards everybody. I do not like when I hear that brothers and sisters are fighting, having a lot of battles against other Islamic schools. Salafis against the Ash'aris; Ash'aris and Maturidis against the Salafis; Salafis between each other; the people who follow the madhahib (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali) against the ones that say, 'We are only Athari, we do not follow any madh'hab.'
Why should we fight about these things? We have a lot of work to do. We have millions of people who are still astray to call them to follow the truth. So, let us show the people the truth, believe in the truth, act according to what our great scholars asked us to, let us be merciful even when we preach and call our brothers to the truth.
"If an Ash'ari, or a Maturidi, or a Deobandi, or even a Salafi has a mistake - you do not go condemning him. You try to be merciful towards him. You try, in a polite way, to show him that it was a mistake and this is the truth. Your group did a lot of great things, but this was a mistake. Not to say: 'Ash'aris, all of them are astray and in the Hellfire! Maturidis, all of them are in the Hellfire! Hanafis are fanatical towards Abu Hanifa, are all of them are going to Hell!
This is not a proper way to deal with your brothers."
