CosmWasm Smart Contracts Are Now Live On Injective
The highly anticipated Injective CosmWasm Mainnet upgrade is now LIVE!
On top of smart contract support with CosmWasm, this upgrade will include:
📈 Binary options markets support
💰 Negative maker fee support
⛓️ Interchain account support through IBC v3
💥AND MUCH MORE (read the blog post to learn about all features in detail)
The CosmWasm Mainnet upgrade was part of Injective Improvement Proposal 159 (IIP-159) which passed with 99.56% of participants voting “Yes".
These new chain implementations will allow Injective’s ecosystem and community to grow exponentially.
This new CosmWasm implementation will allow any developer to build a diverse set of applications on Injective while still utilizing the existing core modules that Injective provides. A core example is Injective’s order book module which allows builders to utilize the only decentralized order book out-of-the-box to create dApps such as exchanges, prediction markets, lending protocols, and much more.
Injective will now be the only blockchain that allows for self-executing smart contract logic. This will bring more builders, users, and community members, growing the Injective ecosystem as a whole.

Negative Maker Fees Now Live!
Negative maker fees are now in effect for 17 new markets across exchange dApps built on Injective!
With the passing of Injective Improvement Proposal 162 (IIP-162), maker and taker fees on Injective native exchange dApps will be updated to a -0.01% rate for makers and 0.1% takers for 17 markets.
In addition, Trade & Earn multipliers for both maker and takers will be updated, with a slightly higher rate for a select few markets.
With this new addition, and a Dedicated Market Maker program that can provide monetary rewards of up to $120,000 every four weeks based on trading volume and token price, market making institutions have multiple earning opportunities simply by trading with Injective's API.
Institutions can now receive a -0.01% maker rate for perp and spot markets such as $DOT, $EVMOS, $APE, $BTC, $ETH and more.

Injective has raised $40M to accelerate the adoption and growth of Web3 finance. The funding round consisted of Jump Crypto and BH Digital (the crypto arm of famed hedge fund manager Alan Howard).
This new capital will enable Injective to spur further development aimed at creating the industry leading blockchain optimized for financial applications. Injective will also continue to invest in its rapidly growing ecosystem in order to solidify its position as the premier destination for Web3 DeFi developers. The funding will also be utilized to further increase utility for the native INJ token, which powers Injective, while also creating new liquidity avenues for dApps built on Injective.
