Nearly 50,000 people were displaced as entire villages were reportedly swept away by the cyclone, which brought winds of 235km/h (146mph).

After returning to parliament after Covid isolation, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau once again called on the truckers to end their blockade of downtown Ottawa, claiming their struggle does not represent most Canadians.
His own Liberal party, however, is apparently split. Quebec Liberal Joel Lightbound insisted "It is time we stopped dividing people, to stop pitting one part of the population against each other".
Protesters could be seen almost mocking the govt, after Ottawa declared it would clampdown on anyone giving 'material support' to the protesters.

A 47 km-deep magnitude 7.5 earthquake that struck the south Atlantic in 2021 was previously thought to have started a global tsunami – scientists now believe it was caused by a sequence of five earthquakes spread out over a few minutes.
The 7.5-magnitude earthquake, which hit near the South Sandwich Islands in 2021, had initially puzzled scientists - as the epicenter was believed to be far too deep to initiate a tsunami.
A new study has revealed a third shallow, “almost invisible” magnitude 8.2 quake, accounted for 70% of the energy released during the event and the resultant global tsunami.

SpaceX has revealed it could lose nearly all of the 49 Starlink satellites it launched last week, due to a geomagnetic storm striking Earth's outer atmosphere.
The phenomenon occurs when solar flares change atmospheric density - it cause the satellites to lose altitude and burn up.
SpaceX explains its low altitude satellites are to ensure malfunctioning ones don't become space junk, destroyed when they fail and deorbit.
