The group is seeking assurances that negotiations for a permanent end to hostilities will continue even after the 60-day truce, which could take effect as early as next week.
A Hamas representative stated that the talks would primarily focus on:

- Determining the number of Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for each Israeli hostage.

- Agreeing on the volume of humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza during the ceasefire.

The Hamas text explicitly allows for the extension of the ceasefire if both sides continue to negotiate “in good faith.”

U.S. Plan Details: Phased Exchanges and Israeli Pullback

Under the American ceasefire proposal, Trump guarantees a 60-day halt to fighting. During this period:

- Israeli hostages will be released in five phases—including both live captives and the remains of the dead.

- Palestinian prisoners will be freed in return.

Israeli forces, who currently control about 65% of the Gaza Strip, would be required to:

- Withdraw from parts of northern and southern Gaza, contingent on “rapid follow-up negotiations.”
Permit increased humanitarian aid into the enclave.
