The White House has been hearing from senior officials, including at least one Cabinet secretary, about the need for administrative actions on immigration — raising caps on certain visa categories, filling country quotas — to help alleviate the pressure on the workforce and increase the country’s labor supply, according to a senior administration official not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Several hundred Indian immigrants who previously applied for green cards are asking a federal appeals court to overturn a government policy that they say has added nearly a decade to their wait to become permanent residents.
The plaintiffs, who face added delays after a change to visa time lines after they applied for green cards, are asking that USCIS continue to adjudicate their applications rather than kicking them back into a queue of green card applicants because the fiscal year lapsed without a visa actually becoming available.

it appears that the wait time for a new PERM ROW applicant, in the EB-2 or EB-3 categories will likely be at least 10 years before they will become eligible for consular processing or adjustment of status. And, for those individuals from high-demand countries like India and China, the wait times are exponentially higher.
