New version is out!
1.2 (TD 1.9.21)
Changes
— New application logo (thanks @synhme for moustache).
— JSON option custom_app_icon for changing app icon:
• 0 - default (purple)
• 1 - blue
• 2 - green
• 3 - orange
• 4 - red
• 5 - old
— Support for taskbar flashing alert on Linux.
— Bot privacy status in members list.
— Custom tray and taskbar icon: put icon.png file in
— Show working dir in tray icon tooltip.
— JSON option userpic_corner_type to changing profile photo rounding:
• 0 - squared
• 1 - low rounded
• 2 - highly rounded
• 3 - circled
— JSON-option always_show_top_userpic: set
— Ban members option in Recent Actions.
— Chat title now shown in "Scheduled Messages" section.
— Option to disable taskbar flashing. Flashing used on Windows and macOS, but you can still change it on Linux if you want.
— New tray menu option to enable/disable notification sound.
— Playback controls are now shown for GIFs, so you can use same features as videos for them: seekbar, pause, speed, PiP. Except for sound, of course.
— Option to set custom recent stickers limit up to 200 (or disable them at all). The thing is Telegram already stores 200 recent stickers to use them in suggestions by emoji, so changing this limit will affect only visual side.
— New default values for some options. Existing users won't notice them, but new one can.
• Default sticker height increased up to 170px.
• Emoji outline now enabled by default (default TD behavior).
• Scheduled messages button shown only when there are messages (default TD behavior).
• Chat ID not shown by default.
— Sticker height minimum has been expanded to 64px.
— Optional confirmation before calling to anyone.
— "Disable Up to edit message" moved in options menu.
— Some basic work to implement changelogs. For now it just points to channel.
— Option to use font height from original TD fonts.
Fixes
— Scroll to dialog in chat list on clicking "Back".
— Fixed font height for "Original font height" option (except for input fields).
— Links were parsed in chat name in compact chat list.
— Second line of text was partially shown in global search results when compact chat list was enabled.

While you're waiting for update with folders, here is funny thing: Telegram Desktop still has button for top bar notification button.
Most interesting thing here is that this variant of switching notifications was never released. It was added in beta version 1.1.23.2 (betas were closed before), and commented out shortly after.
Since notification switch is already exists in profiles, there is no point in duplicating it. But I'd like to know, which variant you like more.

New version is out!
1.2.1 (TD 2.0)
Telegram now have native folders with cloud sync, which was awaited updated by itself. But I have something for you to enjoy on top of that.
Folder settings
• Do not count muted chats: when enabled, folder counter will include only unmuted chats.
• Hide Edit button: let's be honest, it looks out of place in folder list. By the way, now there is alternative way: context menu for "All chats" > "Edit folders".
• Compact folders: since they have icons, does text really needed? If your answer is "yes" - that's for you. Enabling this option also decreases folders' width along with height.
Last thing about folders in this update - default folders. Pressing Esc with chat closed usually opens All chats folder, but this option allows you to set it to your own. Moreover, upon restarting this folder will be shown first. You can set folder as default from its context menu or in edit window.
Forgotten notification switch
Recently in source code I discovered notification switch that was never released, and asked you which variant you like more. As I saw from the poll, many people liked it, so I decided to add option to enable it: Mute in profile top bar. Please note that enabling this option disables old way to switch.
Also now to open Kotatogram Settings, you can use tg://settings/kotato link. I also added menu with options to show settings file and app restart for convenience.
Some fixes
• Few more app name replaces. There should be a correct tray icon on Linux now.
• In multiple chat selector windows search field no more clears after selection, which should make easier to select multiple chats with similar names. Supported windows: exceptions in privacy settings, adding to folder, sharing post from channel.

1.2.2 (TD 2.0.1)
For starters, there is new folder option: Hide "All chats" folder. Pretty obvious on what it does, and not actually obvious on how to open it in that case, so I'll explain.
• If "All chats" is default folder, you can press Escape when chat closed.
• If you haven't set custom hotkeys, you can use Ctrl+1 to open "All chats" folder.
• You can also set
About the last one. In TDesktop 2.0.1 changed default hotkeys: folders are switching on Ctrl+number instead of Ctrl+Shift+number. Pinned chats now opened only if there is no corresponding folder. After the update I've noticed that some wanted to return old behaviour. And I actually could add an option, but instead of dealing with unstable key logic and creating more switches I've decided to go other way: add new custom hotkeys.

If you want to return old behaviour, but you're lazy to set it youself, you can take this config file from GitHub Gist, and put into tdata profile folder. Don't forget to restart the app for hotkey settings to take effect.
Also you can open this folder fast by opening Kotatogram Settings and selecting "Show custom settings" in three-dots menu
Some little things
• Options count is growing, but worst growing is per-section. So that's why I moved some settings of "Chats" section to "Messages" section: sticker height, adaptive bubbles, big emoji outline.
• When you change folder settings with opened folder, panel incorrectly showed current folder. I fixed it.
And yeah, almost forgot. Thanks to @IlyaFedin there a now AppImage build. I have troubles with keyboard layout though, and updates are manual for now, but if you want to test, they are published under #AppImage.

Folder icons
In case you didn't knew, folder icons are stored as normal emojis. Theoretically it opens possibilities to add additional icons, limited to Emoji standard. But Emoji is a massive standard, and many emoticons from it won't fit as folder icons.
So before checking this theory, I'd like to hear from you, which icons do you want to see or which icons do you need most?

Alright, bad news.
Sadly, custom folder icons aren't saved on server: request sends an icon, but it's empty in server's response.
That's how could look icon list. Blur would've been fixed in release build, but there is no point now.
Maybe I'll find some use for icons though: there is planned local filters feature. Just don't ask, when. I can answer that I'm not planning it in next release.
