Patriotic Alternative Yorkshire
Last weekend, PA West Yorkshire manned a street stall on an elevated concrete bridge between a local authority housing estate and a parade of shops in Bramley, Leeds. Overlooking a small bus layby, there were plenty of members of the general public coming and going, and more than a few were happy to speak with us and take examples of the leaflets that we had to offer.
The team finished off with drinks and pizza in the local across the road, and we are very much looking forward to our next meet.

If there’s a bug on the floor my toddler will spot it, even if it’s only 1mm in size. And then she’ll watch it until it disappears. She’s obsessed with insects. Now she’s got her own personality I’m starting to see that she’s a little tomboy, just like I was at that age. Thank god I’m not some rabid lefty. I’d be cutting her hair and calling her they/them.

Hey folks. If you've checked the Patriotic Alternative website today you will have learned that my husband, political prisoner Sam Melia, has been banned by the state and HMP Hull from having any contact with his children while he is in prison. Not only this, but he is not allowed any photographs of our children, and I'm not even allowed to mention them to him when I speak with him.
After serving three months of his sentence already and having full contact (including visits) with our two-year-old and one-month-old daughters, they have now decided that Sam is a Person Posing Risk to Children (PPRC) because of Sam's "racist posters, insignia and literature" and "racist and offensive attitudes".
We have been dealing with this for the past week or so behind the scenes and Sam gave them until today to fix it, informing them that if it wasn't resolved we would go public with the news. Well, it is not resolved, so we will keep to our word and let the world know how the British state treats good men like Sam. Tonight at 7pm on Patriotic Alternative's monthly update for May, I will tell you everything.

Seen a few people asking about Sam’s appeal today so here’s a quick update. The reason I haven’t mentioned it for a while is because hardly anything has happened for the last few months. It’s been a really slow process and nothing seems to move fast in the legal world.
Sam actually heard back from his barrister last week who believes that Sam does not have grounds to appeal the conviction but he does have grounds to appeal the sentence on the basis that Sam met all the requirements for a suspended sentence rather than a custodial sentence.
Really, it was the conviction that we wanted to appeal as this would remove the crime from Sam’s criminal record, and not just impact the time he serves. Sam is currently deciding what he wants to do but he’s been bogged down with getting legal advice for these new restrictions this week. He can get a second opinion regarding his appeal if he wants to.

Sam Melia, the UK-based nationalist jailed over politically-themed stickers, has now been denied any access to his own children by prison authorities.
The anti-immigration stickers that saw Melia jailed earlier this year were found to be both "lawful" and "truthful," as England currently reels in the face of racial demographic change.
