It was an absolute honour to provide afternoon tea at yesterday’s Patriotic Alternative conference where Grandma Towler’s provided home baked scones with butter, jam and cream, plus other treats, and our signature English breakfast tea for almost 200 people.

I’d like to give a shout out to the mums (and dads!) who attended Patriotic Alternative’s conference yesterday with their children. It was so lovely to see everybody and I always leave these events wishing I could’ve spent more time with you. We had around 15 children attend the event, which was a record-breaking number. And I do believe we had our youngest ever attendee who was only five weeks old!

It was especially lovely seeing how much the children had grown since we last met up, and the fact that some of them now had younger siblings. When our first conference took place six years ago, we didn’t have any children in the community. Now we are thriving with so many young families!

As the weekend draws to a close I’d like to take a moment to congratulate Mark Collett on pulling off such a successful conference. Mark always likes to thank everybody who carries out a role on the day but he never includes himself in that list. As somebody who works very closely with Mark, the amount of effort and hours he puts into making these events a success is huge. He works around the clock and pours his heart and soul into making sure that everybody has the best time possible. He should be really proud of what he’s achieved this weekend!
