راههای رسیدن به خدا

یک روز صبح «بودا» در بین شاگردانش نشسته بود که مردی به جمع آنان نزدیک شد و پرسید:
آیا خدا وجود دارد؟
«بودا» پاسخ داد:
بله، خدا وجود دارد.
بعد از ناهار سروکله‌ی مرد دیگری پیدا شد که پرسید:
آیا خدا وجود دارد؟
«بودا» پاسخ داد:
نه، خدا وجود ندارد.
اواخر روز مرد سومی همین سؤال را از «بودا» پرسید. پاسخ بودا به او چنین بود:
خودت باید این را برای خودت روشن کنی.
یکی از شاگردان گفت:
استاد این منطقی نیست. شما چطور می‌توانید به یک سؤال سه جواب بدهید؟
بودا که به روشن‌بینی رسیده بود، پاسخ داد:
چون آنان سه شخص مختلف بودند و هرکس از راه خودش به خدا می‌رسد: عده‌ای با اطمینان، عده‌ای با انکار و عده‌ای با تردید.
