I remember well Saturday, November 7, 2020 when I received a phone call from President Trump while I was at my house in Atlanta.
He told me in part of our conversation, “Lin, if I had lost the election fairly, I would engage in a peaceful transfer of power and leave office gracefully. But I did not lose. I won and I will NEVER concede!”
I replied, “Mr. President, don’t you EVER concede!!!” You won a landslide re-election.”
To this day, President Trump and I have been consistent in our knowledge and public statements that he won the 2020 election, including the State of Georgia, by a landslide.
There are some phone calls you never forget. I will never forget that call from President Trump on November 7, 2020.
I will also NEVER forget my meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office when he asked me to meet with him on March 11, 2020.
On both of those occasions, I felt that I was interacting with the man who would go down in history as our republic’s GREATEST President.
I believed then and I believe now that I am right about my feelings about President Trump and his place in the history of our republic.
Time will tell.
