💜
Contact a physical sensation without judgment.
Don’t think about the sensation, don’t analyze it, just be with it.
You didn’t create it.
You are not responsible for it.
It is not your fault.
You did nothing wrong.
It is not your job to heal it, fix it, get rid of it, or even work out “why” it is here.
Like the morning dew or the roar of traffic outside your window, it is not personal.
Know less.
Feel more.
Commit to the moment.
Come out of the story of past, with its guilt and regret.
Come out of the story of future, with its fear and anticipation.
Feel the raw sensation now, life in its purest form, a dance of energy.
It is here for a moment.
Honor its fleeting appearance.
Be the space for the sensation, its container, its presence, its warm embrace.

People hide their pain much better than you think.
Even your closest friends, the family members you see every day, the people you talk to every morning, all carry silent battles inside them that they never talk about.
That person who seemed calm at dinner may have cried all the way there.
That friend of yours who always jokes around and makes everyone laugh may be living a nightmare at home.
The truth is, we will never know what it means to be in their shoes.
To face their fears, to feel their pain.
But that should not prevent us from caring for others.
You don't have to have walked the same path to offer support.
True empathy does not come from understanding, but from the awareness that everyone, even those who smile, is carrying a burden that no one else can see.
And that is enough to treat people with kindness, because silence does not mean the absence of suffering.

Splitting soup is not a miracle, it's a trick.
A single mother who has to work two jobs and still finds time to take her son to football practice, that's a real miracle.
A teenager who says no to drugs and yes to education.
That's a miracle.
People want me to do everything, and they don't realise that they are the ones with the power.
Do you want to see a miracle, son?
Yes, your miracle.

Why do some people become silent when they suffer?
There are people who show no cracks when they are hurting.
They disappear.
It is not coldness.
It is emotional memory.
In psychology, it is called silent regulation.
The body learns to survive.
Silence becomes a refuge when speaking has cost you too much.
This is what happens to those who have been ignored, invalidated or misunderstood for years.
When you learn that your emotions change nothing, you stop showing them.
It is not apathy, it is self-protection.
Those who remain silent do so in order not to break down.
So as not to make the wound worse.
Sometimes silence does not mean “I don't care”.
It means “if I open my mouth, I will explode”.
And until the heart is stable again, the person stays on the sidelines.

So I understand that people like my old colleagues, who are doing the same things they did thirty years ago, think I've gone mad.
But believe me, I haven't gone mad.
Not at all.
I've taken a different path.
I want to see what's on the trails.
I've left the motorway; I'm no longer interested in motorway service stations and driving at 200 kilometres per hour.
I want to go slower and take other roads.
They may lead elsewhere or they may lead nowhere, but at least I've tried.
We react rather than act.
We are used to routine.
Something happens and we react in a certain way.
Something else happens and we react in another way, and we continue in a series of established behaviours with very few variations and very little freedom.

Do you know how medicine works in China?
No.
Four times a year, the whole family goes to the doctor and he treats them.
That is to say, he looks for weaknesses in healthy people that could later become illnesses.
He prescribes some herbs, and rebalances their body.
Then they pay him and leave.
For them, this is medicine.
Preventing people from getting sick.
On the other hand, if someone does get sick, then the doctor goes to them to treat them and is not paid.
Because for them, treating an illness that is already there is not medicine, just like manufacturing weapons immediately after declaring war.
Or digging a well when you are thirsty.
You have to think about it beforehand.
So it is in the Chinese doctor's interest for people to be well because it is those who are well who pay them.
Sick people take away his time to earn money, and if he has too many sick people, the doctor goes bankrupt.
The more sick people one has, the more one is respected and the more one earns.
