Why Friendships Break

‎قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : ما تواد اثنان في الله عز وجل أو في الإسلام فيفرق بينهما إلا ذنب يحدثه أحدهما

The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

“No two people are friends/love one another for the sake of Allāh 'Azza Wa Jall or for the sake of Islām then they split from each other EXCEPT due to a sin newly committed by (either) one of them.”

Aisha (رضي الله عنها)  reported: When I saw the Prophet, ﷺ, with a cheerful face, I said, “O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah for me.”

The Prophet ﷺ said, “O Allah, forgive Aisha for her past and future sins, in secret and in public.”

Aisha laughed so much that her head fell from his lap.

The Prophet ﷺ said to her, “Does my supplication make you happy?”

Aisha said, “Why would your supplication not make me happy?”

The Prophet ﷺ said, “By Allah, it is my supplication for my nation in every prayer.”

TO SEEK THE PROTECTION From Allah Wrath ✨

Among the supplication of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was:

« اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ »

(Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatika, wa fuja'ati niqmatika, wa jami'i sakhatika)

"O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the withdrawing of Your blessing, and the loss of health, and the sudden onset of Your wrath, and anything that may lead to Your displeasure."

Sheikh al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said,

"If a man is tested with falling in love, yet he maintains his chastity and bears that with patience, then he will be rewarded for fearing Allah."

The Four Rivers Of Purification

قال ابن القيم رحمه الله : فلأهل الذنوب ثلاثة أنهار عظام يتطهرون بها في الدنيا فإن لم تف بطهرهم طهروا في نهر الجحيم يوم القيامة : نهر التوبة النصوح ، ونهر الحسنات المستغرقة للأوزار المحيطة بها ونهر المصائب العظيمة المكفرة
فإذا أراد الله بعبده خيرا أدخله أحد هذه الأنهار الثلاثة فورد القيامة طيبا طاهرا فلم يحتج إلى التطهير الرابع…

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“For the people of sins there are three great rivers in which they will be purified in this world and if these do not suffice in purifying them, then they will be cleansed in the river of Hell-fire on the Day of Resurrection:

• The river of sincere repentance

• The river of good deeds that drowns the sins that surround it

• And the river of great calamities that are an expiation (for the sins of a sinner)

So if Allāh intends good for His slave, He makes him enter into one of these three rivers, so the slave comes purified and cleansed on the Day of Resurrection, not requiring the fourth purification (of Hellfire).”

‏عن محمد بن سيرين رحمه الله أنه قال :
‏
‏إنَّ أكثر الناس خطايا.
‏
‏أكثرهم ذكرًا لخطايا الناس.
‏
Muḥammad Ibn Sirin رحمه الله said:

'Verily those with the most sins are those who mention the sins of the people".
