Forgiving Without Forgetting
I believe in forgiving but not in forgetting. Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselvesit frees us from the weight of resentment. But forgetting? That’s something else entirely When we forget we erase the lesson leaving ourselves open to the same pain again
Remembering isn’t about holding grudges it’s about protecting ourselves It reminds us of where we misplaced our trust, where we ignored the warning signs. It teaches us who people truly are not just who we wished them to be.
Letting go doesn’t mean letting someone back in We can release the anger without erasing the past. Because forgetting isn’t kindnessit’s an invitation for history to repeat itself. And some lessons if ignored come back even harder the next time
