A Parable About Resentment with a Deep Meaning π₯π
A student asked his teacher:
β "You are so wise. You're always in a good mood and never get angry. Help me become like you."
The teacher agreed and asked the student to bring some potatoes and a clear bag.
β "If you get angry with someone and hold a grudge," the teacher said, "take a potato. Write your name on one side of it and the name of the person with whom you had a conflict on the other side. Then put the potato in the bag."
β "Is that all?" the student asked, puzzled.
β "No," the teacher replied. "You must carry this bag with you at all times. Every time you hold a grudge against someone, add another potato to it."
The student agreed.
Some time passed. The studentβs bag filled with more potatoes and became quite heavy. It was very inconvenient to carry it everywhere. Moreover, the potatoes from the beginning started to rot. They became slimy, some sprouted, and others began to stink badly.
The student came to the teacher and said:
β "This is impossible to carry around. The bag is too heavy, and the potatoes have gone bad. Please suggest something else."
But the teacher replied:
β "The same happens in your soul. When you hold grudges or get angry with someone, a heavy stone appears in your heart. You donβt notice it at first. Over time, the stones multiply. Actions turn into habits, habits into character, which breeds vile vices. I gave you the opportunity to observe this process from the outside. Every time you decide to hold a grudge or hurt someone, think: do you really need this stone?"

To love means to wish another person what you consider good and to wish it not for your own sake but for the sake of the one you love, striving, as much as possible, to provide them with this good. β€οΈβ¨ - Aristotle

The General and the Boulder πΉπ
Once, a Chinese emperor had a highly skilled and experienced general. After one of his great victories, the emperor held a grand celebration in his palace, with much food and drink consumed.
Late that night, as the general was heading home, he suddenly noticed a tiger crouching in the bushes near a bend in the road. The tiger was ready to pounce!
Despite the wine he had drunk at the feast, the general reacted instantly. In a flash, he drew his bow, released an arrow, and struck the tiger dead.
The next morning, when the general woke up, he remembered the incident and decided to retrieve the tiger and have it stuffed as a trophy. He went back to the spot, only to discover that in the darkness, he had mistaken a massive boulder for a tiger.
What amazed him even more was that the arrow had pierced straight through the boulder. Out of curiosity, he fired several more arrows at the stone, but they all bounced off without leaving a mark.
At that moment, the general understood: when intention is flawless, even a boulder can be pierced by an arrow. π―β¨
