Parable of the Farmer and Luck π¨π»βπΎ
There was an old farmer. His horse ran away. The neighbors said:
β What a disaster!
He replied:
β We'll see.
The next day, the horse returned, bringing three wild horses with it.
The neighbors said:
β What a blessing!
β We'll see, β replied the farmer.
The son tried to tame one of the wild horses, fell, and broke his leg.
The neighbors said:
β What a misfortune!
β We'll see, β replied the farmer.
A week later, soldiers came to take the young men to war β but they didn't take the son.
The neighbors said:
β How lucky you are!
β We'll see, β said the farmer.
Moral: Never be quick to judge what happens. Sometimes behind a "misfortune" lies a gift from fate.π

The parable of the three old men πβ€οΈπ°π
A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her yard.
She didnβt know them but said:
β You must be hungry. Please, come into the house and have something to eat.
β Is your husband home? β they asked.
β No, heβs not, β she replied.
β Then we cannot come in, β they said.
That evening, when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
β Go and tell them Iβm home now and invite them in! β he said.
The woman went out and invited the old men.
β We cannot come into the house together, β they replied.
β Why not? β she asked, surprised.
One of the old men explained:
β His name is Wealth, β he said, pointing to one of his friends.
β That one is Success, β he said, pointing to the other.
β And I am Love.
Then he added:
β Now go back and talk with your husband about which of us you want in your home.
The woman went back and told her husband. He was delighted:
β How wonderful! If we have to choose, letβs invite Wealth! Let him fill our home with riches!
β Darling, why not invite Success instead? β his wife suggested.
Their adopted daughter, who had been listening quietly, ran up to them and said:
β Why not invite Love? Then our home will be filled with love!
β Letβs agree with our little girl β the husband said. β Go out and invite Love to be our guest.
The woman went out and asked:
β Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.
Love got up and began walking toward the house. The other two old men got up and followed him.
Surprised, the woman asked Wealth and Success:
β I only invited Love. Why are you coming in?
The old men replied:
β If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would have stayed outside. But when you invite Love, we always come along. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success! β€οΈπ β¨

What is the most important thing to develop within yourself?
One day, a traveler came to a teacher. He sat down at the table across from the teacher and silently watched him reading a book.
β What do you want? β asked the old man.
The guest hesitantly replied:
β Oh, Great Teacher! I have traveled for many months to meet you here and ask just one question: "What is the most important thing to develop in oneself first?"
β I don't know, but it seems to me that it is the brain, β the teacher smiled and answered.
β Great Teacher, why "the brain"? What do you mean? β the guest asked in surprise.
β First of all, donβt call me great, β said the old man. β And secondly, if you thought with your brain, not with your feet, you wouldn't have walked for so many weeks. You would have written a letter.

Love for Fish ππ
When asked, "Why do you eat fish?" a young man replied, "Because I love fish."
To that, I said, "Oh, you don't love fish! That's why you caught it from the water, killed it, and cooked it. Don't tell me you love fish. You love yourself. You love the taste of fish. You caught it, killed it, and cooked it."
Much of what we call love is actually more like this "love for fish."
Look at a couple of young lovers. The boy and girl fall in love with each other. What does that mean? It means that he sees in his partner the one who, in his view, can satisfy all his physical and emotional needs. In the girl's view, her partner is the love of her life. But each is only concerned with their own needs. They donβt truly love each other. The partner becomes just a tool to satisfy needs. Much of what we call love is just "love for fish."
One philosopher said, "People are very mistaken when they think they give something because they love. But hereβs the truth β you only love those to whom you give something." The point is: by giving something to you, I am giving a part of myself. To love is, first and foremost, to give, not to receive. π
