संयुक्त राष्ट्र (UNGA) ने 2024 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ऊँट वर्ष घोषित किया है । यह वर्ष इस बात पर प्रकाश डालेगा कि ऊँट 90 से अधिक देशों में लाखों परिवारों की आजीविका के लिए किस तरह महत्वपूर्ण हैं ।

🛡 UNGA = Internal year of Camelids

🛡 कैमलिड्स ऊँटों के परिवार को कहा जाता है ।

🛡 अपने देश में 2 प्रकार के ऊंट पाये जाते हैं – (a) 1 कूबड़ बाले ऊंट (Dromedary camel) 🐪 जो अक्सर राजस्थान और गुजरात के क्षेत्र में मिल जाते है, और (b) 2 कूबड़ बाले (Double Humped Camel) 🐫 Bactrian camel जो लद्दाख के Nubra valley क्षेत्र में मिलते हैं |

🛡 Kharai Camel 🐪 : The Kharai, is a rare and unique breed of dromedary camel, commonly known as the 'swimming camel' due to its ability to thrive in the salt marshes of Kutch district (ख़राई, एक दुर्लभ और अनोखी प्रजाति है जो ड्रोमेडरी ऊंट की होती है, जिसे 'स्विमिंग ऊंट' के नाम से जाना जाता है क्योंकि यह कच्छ जिले के लवणीय दलदली क्षेत्रों में जीवित रहने की क्षमता रखता है।)
