Why no more mock tests should be attempted?
1. We are just a few days away from the exam - this is the time when the notes and the basic resources should be revised with due diligence.
2. Mock tests - if attempting for GS and CSAT both will take up at least 9 hours of your day. 2 hours for GS, then break, then 2 hours for CSAT, then you'll analyze the test and the mistakes. All this will take up your entire day. Where, every single hour is important, you cannot afford a day.
3. The mock test questions are not the questions that UPSC will ask. They are just the questions that are created by content writers for your practice based.
4. It is better to invest those 9-10 hours in a subject and focus on the COMPLETION OF THE SUBJECT. That will fetch you more marks.
5. For example: in 9-10 hours in the entire mock test exercise, you will be attempting 10-12 questions from lets say Geography or Polity, which means you will be revising only those 10-12 topics essentially. But if you invest those 9-10 hours to invest geography, you can revise 50-75% of it covering a wider area.
6. It is good to attempt mock tests till April, but now, you should just focus on your core revision and avoid the DISTRACTION of mock tests.
Regards,
Mudit Gupta
