The National Party condemns in the strongest terms the assassination of American conservative political figure Charlie Kirk.

The immediate, sheer outpouring of joy and support for Kirk's killer across the leftist spectrum clearly shows that the modern left have no intention or ability to be members of any civil society.

This is not sustainable.

As a movement, we cannot be expected to allow the current situation of unprovoked violence celebrated by the left and coupled with a broken justice system to continue.

Last night, a wife went to bed a widow.
Two young children cried themselves to sleep, robbed of their loving father.

The sickness that lies across western culture must be cured.
Society demands justice and retribution for the injuries it has sustained.

The National Party aims to arrest this moral sickness seeping into Ireland, to protect the Irish people, secure their future and uphold and enforce Irish laws that will exile this senseless violence from Irish shores.

The National Party believes that foreign ownership of property should be tightly restricted and that under no circumstances should IPAS, temporary protection applicants or international students be given a 'leg up' or access to programmes designed to help struggling Irish couples and families in buying a home.

Today the Electoral Commission has rejected an obstructionist appeal made by Justin Barrett, which had aimed to frustrate the will of the National Party’s membership which has repeatedly expressed that it wants to move forward. We welcome the decision to throw out this appeal.

The Register of Political Parties will now be updated with properly elected officers of the party, and the names James Reynolds and Justin Barrett will be removed for good on foot of motions passed at last year’s Ard Fheis.
