I. On true innocence.

True innocence is that which harms neither oneself nor others: for he who loves iniquity destroys his own soul. And no one sins first in another before sinning in himself (Aug. in psal. c, 2; Prosp. in eumdem p>.).

II. On loving people.

People should be loved in such a way that their errors are not loved; because it is one thing to love what they are, and another to hate what they do (Aug. in ps. c, 5; Prosp. in eumdem p>.).
