By honouring the traditions and guidance of their forebears, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha through acts of kindness and compassion, and with heartfelt concern for those in need of help and support.

It is heartening to see Muslim organisations playing an active and constructive role in the life of our country. They place great importance on educating the younger generations, strengthening family values, and implementing large-scale initiatives in culture, education, enlightenment, and charitable activity. And, of course, your efforts to support the defenders of the Fatherland and their families and friends are especially worthy of the deepest respect and recognition.

In many respects, this year will be decisive for Russia's technological development. It is crucial to have a clear understanding of the areas that will drive economic growth and shape the development of industries, regions, and the country as a whole, both now and in the long term. We must identify the sectors in which we must achieve genuine technological leadership, focusing on companies, research centres, and enterprises. I would like to stress that the relevant national projects must be aimed at achieving technological leadership not just in name, but in essence.

Recently, some Russian-made UAV prototypes and serial models were showcased at an exhibition in Moscow. Among those who viewed them were foreign leaders visiting Russia during the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In some segments, Russian-made unmanned systems are already among the most advanced in the world, surpassing their foreign counterparts and, indeed, frequently copied by other countries. In order to scale up the volume and quality of work in this field, a dedicated national project is being implemented.

Russia consistently upholds the principles of sovereign development and respect for the cultural and civilizational identity of nations and peoples. Our task today is to develop a new long-term programme that encompasses the full scope of weapon systems and models, with a focus on the most advanced types. To achieve this, we must draw extensively on the experience gained from the special military operation and regional conflicts. Obviously, it is essential to consider current global trends in military technology, especially as more countries become active in this field, which objectively reflects the emergence of new centres of technological, scientific, and industrial development in a multipolar world.

Defence companies, with support from the Government, have increased output severalfold in recent years. We must use this potential wisely and establish a well thought-out personnel policy, while the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Defence Ministry should have a vision of the future and think of ways to ensure orders for the defence industry to produce civilian goods, if necessary. <...> What I mean here is specific plans to diversify production, which we repeatedly discussed earlier. We have enough experience in the field.

We need to increase the export potential of Russian weapons and equipment, especially those that have been tested in actual high-intensity combat rather than at test ranges, and have shown their reliability and effectiveness. At the same time — and this is crucial for buyers — they are also competitive in terms of pricing and maintenance costs.
