On the eve of Customs Officer Day, Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Head of Russia's Federal Customs Service Valery Pikalyov at the Kremlin
Valery Pikalyov briefed the President on his agency's current activities as well as the progress made in implementing the Strategy for Developing Russia's Customs Service until 2030. Particular attention was paid to issues pertaining to personnel training and benefits for customs officers.
In addition, Valery Pikalyov informed the President about the reduction of clearance times at customs checkpoints and steps taken to combat grey imports, which include the establishment of a national transit status confirmation system, currently in the making.
