On Russia Day, Vladimir Putin hosted a ceremony in the Grand Kremlin Palace's St George Hall to present Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation gold medals and the 2024 Russian Federation National Awards for achievements in science and technology, literature and the arts, human rights, charity work, and humanitarian activity

In his opening speech, the President offered greetings for Russia's national holiday to the audience:

I sincerely extend my best wishes to you for this holiday which embodies the powerful and uninterrupted journey of the Russian state for over a thousand years, as well as its history and culture, its uniquely abundant nature, and the diversity and authenticity of its numerous regions. It evinces the common destiny of our multi-ethnic nation, the merits of all generations to the Fatherland, and their loyalty to the traditions of unity while in combat or at work.

This integrity in our perception of Russia is our common and most important achievement, and a caring and filial attitude and sincere devotion to the Motherland strengthen its power, independence, and sovereignty.

Vladimir Putin sent a message of condolences to President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi over a passenger plane crash at Ahmedabad airport

The President's message reads, in part:
Please, convey my sincere sympathy and support to the victims' families and friends, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured in this accident.

Supreme Commander-in-Chief on creation of new branch of armed forces

We are now creating unmanned systems troops as a separate branch of the armed forces, and we need to ensure they are deployed and develop as fast and efficiently as possible. We know our enemy's modus operandi. However, I do not think we are falling behind in any way. Moreover, I believe we have a lot of experience in the field.

In light of the dangerous escalation resulting from Israel's act of force against Iran, Vladimir Putin had telephone conversations with President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu

🔹The President of Russia expressed his condolences to the authorities and citizens of Iran over the heavy death toll resulting from Israeli strikes, including among civilians.

🔹Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia condemned Israel's actions, which had been carried out in violation of the UN Charter and international law. The Russian side has been fully supporting the efforts to resolve the situation around Iran's nuclear programme peacefully and has proposed concrete initiatives aimed at reaching mutually acceptable agreements. Russia will continue to promote a de-escalation between Iran and Israel.

🔹In his conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel, the President of Russia emphasised the importance of resuming the negotiations and resolving any issues pertaining to Iran's nuclear programme exclusively via political and diplomatic means. In addition, the Russian leader expressed willingness to provide mediation so as to prevent further escalation.

🔹It was agreed that the Russian side will maintain close contact with the authorities of both Iran and Israel with a view to resolving the present situation, which is fraught with the most disastrous consequences for the entire region.

In his address ahead of the holiday, the President stressed that this day offers a great opportunity to thank all healthcare workers for their commitment to their high mission.

The President extended greetings to Russian medical staff for their professional holiday during a June 10 videoconference with the authorities of the regions where new healthcare facilities were put into operation.
