The new line they are going with for Project 2025 is that Trump didn't "disavow" Project 2025, he merely "clarified" that 2025 isn't part of the campaign. Setting aside that this is obviously untrue, since Trump and his advisors clearly coordinated an attack and disavowal of 2025— this is also a retcon.

Many former and current Trump personnel have been involved in 2025, so the "disavowal" was a total flop and was not accepted by the Left. The immediate, predictable response from the Left was to point out how Trump personnel such as Stephen Miller, are advisors to Project 2025.

So this new line they've taken about "clarifying" rather than disavowing is not backpedaling the disavowal, it's an ad hoc fix because of this problem.

Oh now I get it, that explains everything.

Trump goes back in on Project 2025 for a second disavowal. Both of his statements on Project 2025 have gone out in preparation for the RNC next week.

Just as I said a few days ago, the media has justifiably rejected Trump's disavowal or "distancing" Project 2025 because so many of his personnel have been involved with it for a long time.

Each day, more Democrats become emboldened to demand Biden's withdrawal from the race as the fallout from the first debate enters the second week... and Trump is amplifying the media's attacks on himself.

Trump adamantly disavows Project 2025 because he is now allergic to bad press. The sustained media attacks on 2025 and their attempt to insinuate its agenda into the center of the Trump campaign have succeeded. By repeatedly denying 2025, he gives credibility to the attack and has turned it into a central campaign issue.

But the bigger picture is that the donors and advisors behind the Trump campaign are coordinating their own attack on 2025 because they want control of the presidential transition after the election. 2025 is NOT just a policy white paper, it is a personnel database. The Wall Street and Silicon Valley money behind the Trump campaign seeks to protect their interests in the forthcoming Republican administration by securing control of the transition prior to the election.

That's ultimately what this is about— who will direct the administration under Trump, and right now it's all for sale.
