I believe this topic is very important for 2024 Prelims. A question was asked from this topic consecutively for 2-3 years but in 2023 Prelims, no question appeared. Let's expect at least one in 2024.

I just covered it in our Prelims crash course in detail. Still, I think that the handout of the topic could be useful for wider audience also.

Found this analysis of 2023 scores online.

As was already discussed in the video, the main differentiator is the score in Main Examination. Interview score may decide your final rank and service to some extent, but whether you will be in the final list or not is decider by your Main examination. It is here, you have to score at least 50 points above the cut off.

That is where the whole game is.

History Optional: Weekly Question Discussion
Week 1: 4 May 2024

Hello students, LevelUp IAS is conducting a weekly zoom session for all the History optional students to help in the improvement of answer writing. The objective of these sessions is to help in the improvement of overall answer writing quality of answers which is the key to scoring 300+ marks.

Two questions will be shared every week well in advance. Students are advised to write them on their own. Both Nikhil sir and Vishal sir will come online in a zoom session to discuss the answers, approaches, and historiography surrounding them. You will also get an opportunity to discuss these questions and answers with them and ask any related doubt.

For participating in the weekly session, you will have to register yourself using the link provided. You will receive zoom link at you registered email ID. The usual time of zoom session will be Sunday evening 8 PM.

Questions for Week 1:
1) Highlight the important characteristics of the early Vedic economy? How did it shape the political system and social structure of the early Vedic cage? (15 Marks)
2) Examine the significance of the arrival of the Portuguese in India. (15 marks)
